My impression from the patch notes is that crafting will be connected to this stage of the relic chain. Some of those new "perfect" and "aged" items may be required for the quests, I suspect.

Two of the items in those new crafting recipes use big fish as ingredients, Tailor-made Eel Pie which uses Worm of Nym, and Perfect Pounce which uses an Aetherlouse. I'll probably get put on farming those for my static if these items are involved in the relic questline lol

Guess it depends on the Japanese name of this quest. Is the name just another translational pop culture reference (great series, btw), or does the Japanese name also sound like something related to Odin demimateria?

I highly doubt that SE puts hard content into the relic quest. They never did, so far.

I highly doubt anything from FCoB will be a part of it. Relic questline is usually a rewarding grind that makes one do alot of tedious tasks to bring life into the game to where it may be lacking. Though going by that I wouldn't be suprised if they threw in something for CT just to help with those queues.

it's up on reddit now. the perfect crafted items are all required and many rare drops from many different HM dungeons. And the bombard core is required too. Pretty much every new item they added in this patch that isn't related to eternal bond is for the relic. Even the Eel Pie is required. Have fun big fishing!

Thankfully, Demimateria is NOT required, although Desynth is.
