Shiva Diamond Weapons

Each player will now receive a piece of diamond dust upon completion of Akh Afah Amphitheatre (Extreme).
Exchange diamond dust with Aelina in Mor Dhona at Revenant's Toll (X:22 Y:6) to enhance one of the following items:

True Ice Brand / True Ice Claws / True Ice Axe / True Ice Spear / True Ice Bow / True Ice Daggers / True Ice Cane / True Ice Rod / True Grimoire of Ice / True Codex of Ice / True Ice Shield

The new weapons are ilvl 115. I really like this patch. I love to see high level items drop from Extreme Primals. Although, I'm surprised Diamond Dust isn't a rare drop like Mirror of the Whorl. I'm assuming it's because the ilvl is the same as a HA weapon.

Yup i guess that's the reason. Enhanced Levi weapons were 5 ilvl's higher than Allagan and the relic stage back then has also been i100. Now the relic upgrades to i125 with the same patch plus both HA and Nexus already are i115.

I really like this idea though, it gives an alternate choice with different stats i.e. for early fcob progression. An example would be HA Baghnaks, they don't have acc and the i115 Shiva ones have, this may solve acc issues/give better gear options until someone can get the new tome weapon.

Right, I like it as well. I'm currently using the True Ice Cane until i get my Ironworks, so that boost will be welcomed in T12 tomorrow.

One thing that bothers me though, the english wording you just quoted from the lodestone greatly differs from the german translation. In the german translation it basically tells that a piece of diamond dust will go into the loot pool (just like mirror of the whorl, but guaranteed drop) while the english one (at least that's how i understand it, I'm not a native entlish speaker ^^) tells that every player recieves a piece of diamond dust upon completion?

While this is a nice addition that helps keep Shiva EX relevant, I would really like to see something similar to Primal Focus, which is a weekly quest where you fought Garuda, Titan and Ifrit Extreme for i90 weapons.

Maybe patch 2.5 can introduce an i125-130 weapon for beating Leviathan/Ramuh/Shiva EX.

Can anyone confirm how many pieces of diamond dust it takes to upgrade the weapon?

It takes 5 Diamond Dusts to upgrade a weapon and everyone does get their own drop of it. So yeah.... Semi-grind for a weapon with really weird job stats.
