And no Hide cannot be used during combat, if you have aggro on any mob or come into proximity of any boss, you cannot use hide.
As much as I also loved some aspect of 1.xx, this isn't 1.xx anymore.

Stop trying to remove a QoL spell for raiders, it serves a purpose for them.
