    PS4 Upgrade

    I finally did the PS3 to PS4 upgrade and it's not working. When I launch the game it says "Cannont launch Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Please register the promotion code included with you package or download".

    Not only do I not have a promotion code (SE only gave me the voucher code to download it from the PSN which I did) but it also doesn't even say where you'd be putting in this code.

    Mog station acknowledge that I've done the upgrade, PSN says that I have fully downloaded the game and updates. What is going on?

    A quick google search only shows this was a problem from the beta of the PS4 launch but it is definitely no longer in beta.

    This is the promotional code it's talking about. When you upgrade to the PS4 it gives you the 12 digit code to download the client from PS Store. I remember this happening to a lot of people right when the upgrade first went active (which is when I upgraded back in February) so it's a bit cloudy in my memory banks, but I don't exactly remember how people remedied it because it didn't happen to me. I searched some old threads, and the only definitive fix I saw was someone was using the wrong PSN ID to try and play. So if you have multiple PSN accounts make sure you're on the right one!

    Maybe use the advance search and search titles with "PS4 Upgrade" in it. I did that, but only went back about 6 months (not as far as Wobble's posts), but am at work so couldn't devote any more time to try and help. Hope you fix it OP! Game is amazing on PS4.

    Sign into Mog Station, scroll to the bottom. You'll see a "Uprade to PS4 Version" link. Click that to get the Upgrade Voucher Code. Then redeem that code on PSN.

    Thanks everyone. It turns out that I'm just super forgetful and apparently have 2 PSN accounts. I accidentally registers the code with the PSN account I didn't realize was the wrong one (or that I even had for that matter)

    Thankfully I guess it seems the game is registered to my PS4 so I just made a "new" user with my real PSN account and it works now. Hopefully this won't become a problem later on but I'm sure with my luck it will be.

    Follow up question, does anyone know if I delete the user profile thats wrong (aka the email address I don't use) will my upgraded copy of ARR be gone as well? I don't want to accidentally add anything else to that account/user?

    Also do you think I'd be able to contact sony and have them 1 get rid of that account as a whole and 2 transfer that game over to the right account?

    Can't hurt to try. You're better doing it as soon as possible because if they can they might not do it for you 6 months down the line.

    I would recommend contacting customer support so they can go through the hoops to link it to your proper account before doing anything like that, I believe they have a customer service area on their site specifically for that. Better safe than sorry.

    You could try contacting sony but I dont believe there is anything they can do I am fairly certain this would need to be solved via square enix account support

    He tired his SE account to the wrong PS account. That would be Sony he would have to contact.
