What do you do while crafting to keep from falling asleep?
What do you do while crafting to keep from falling asleep?
Depends on my mood.
I can watch anime
or talk to my husband
or check emails (macro crafting)
or do some rosetta stone (macro crafting again)
I quite enjoy it. Not enough time in the day to both play AND then go watch anime separately. Doing both at the same time works well for mesame with gathering.
Do you focus on 1 crafting class at a time or spread the xp evenly?
I'm a bit of a completionist. I craft evenly across my crafting log (which just so happens to help me spread across the classes). So like I'll do all the level 20,21 recipes, then all the level 22 and 23 recipes, etc.. I find that's more fun than spamming the same craft always (though sometimes annoying, especially for culinarian, when mats are missing, but then it means I get to switch up the pace and go gather it! Keeps it fun..for me)
I also spread my leves and class quests evenly because I want to see them all show up in my completed quest log. I'm a weirdo though. I don't think most people play like I do.
Only times I stay on a single crafter is: 1) someone asked me to make lots of mats or 2) I realize that I need to make a lot of the same mats. In which case I will stick to whoever makes that and macro craft while doing something else (I don't use quick synth unless it's like 3am+).

If I'm falling asleep while crafing, I stop, and go do some DoW content.
I I'm just spamming my one-touch macro's, I plug in a /echo sound effect at the end of the synth so know it's done, and I plug my heaphones into my PS4 Controller. Drape them around my neck, and go wherever/do w/e in my apartment. Watch TV, do Chores, cook, etc. Whnever a macro finishes, I press X, X, then Macro. No need to look at the screen XD
So . . . what kind of macros do you use? lol I'm bored at work and can't do anything til I get home.
I push buttons. I don't have my offhands fully melded. I don't macro. I ride the RNG.
Its a form of gambling that appeals to me.
Netflix, play Smash Bros, or chat with LS.

I will use Macros like this one:
Scarebearz, this sequence is parsed slightly better than yours according to http://www.ffxivcrafter.com and it uses the same number of steps, the same skills, and has the same CP cost:
/ac "Inner Quiet" <wait.2>
/ac "Steady Hand II" <wait.2>
/ac "Basic Touch" <wait.3>
/ac "Innovation" <wait.2>
/ac "Basic Touch" <wait.3>
/ac "Basic Touch" <wait.3>
/ac "Advanced Touch" <wait.3>
/ac "Great Strides" <wait.2>
/ac "Steady Hand" <wait.2>
/ac "Ingenuity II" <wait.2>
/ac "Advanced Touch" <wait.3>
/ac "Great Strides" <wait.2>
/ac "Byregot's Blessing" <wait.3>
/ac "Careful Synthesis II" <wait.3>
/ac "Careful Synthesis II" <wait.3>
This should also have slightly more success when dealing with poors as the BB gives a smaller percentage of the final total. The penalty for a poor is 50%, so if I'm doing this right, my rotation on a poor BB gives an 83% chance, and on a poor AT before the BB, I get a 93% chance (poor on both is not possible since they are 2 steps away). A single poor in any other spot gives 100%. With yours, a poor BB gives a 39% HQ chance, a poor on the last AT before BB gives a ~94% chance, and a poor on the first AT gives a ~96%. Any other spot gives a 100%.
So, up to you which you want to use. Mine is my one-button, no-food go-to for all my 1* and 2* 80-dur needs.
Nyalia & Scarebearz post some pret good macros. They both are definitely into sharing the knowledge for one-touch mass production macros it seems.
