Minions are content, they were before the cash shop so why would the suddenly cease to be content after the cash shop launches?

Fancy items (glamour, minions and mounts) always was treated as content not serious enough to be a part of "no P2W" clause and as such often was put behind paywall, straight from 1.0 release
Pay extra and get a special reward in form of collector editions, veteran rewards, various bonuses existed way before cash shop was introduced. And it's the same "pay2obtain" as in cashshop, just a bit less direct.

Why the hell should a Collector's Edition exist? There is content locked up there in the form of mounts and minions (coeurl/fat chocobo/ behemoth minion) I see no complaints about this. I see no complaints about the fact you can upgrade to these on mogstation. But the first thing we'll complain about is a mount in cash shop, a minion in cash shop.

Get over yourselves people, you are NOT entitled to every single pixel in the game even if you pay for it monthly even if you feel it should be that way. Do you feel just because you pay monthly you should have every single exclusive item?

If so please elaborate on what the hell is the point of a collectors edition? or the Moogle bonus from stream? or any other bonuses in time? What company would seriously NOT do this and be competent in a business environment? Even the most successful of MMOs have a cash shop so where exactly is your comparison coming from? This is the new normal for MMOs in general.

If it truly bothered you, stfu and take your money and gtfo. You don't need a damn answer from SE to tell you what you will get. They said cash shop will be vanity only and that's all I see. Im a collector of minions and mounts and will get all I can when possible eventually (only upgraded to collectors edition to get the ones from that) and even so, I don't give a crap about spending money if I want it.

Subs are dipping, there's no doubt about it, especially since they haven't released official sub figures aside from the 500k active accounts back in ARR's first months and the infamous marketing of "2.5 million adventurers" which are just registered accounts. Remember all the "if you don't like it, leave" comments being thrown around since launch? Well they worked, thus the emergency "let's save our generic WoW clone" option is being phased in.

Got it in one. Remember all of the complaining about the incredibly low drop rate on the EX Primal mounts and how SE upped the drop rate because of it? Now there's a pony that people can choose to buy in the cash shop instead of spending hours farming the EX Primals and people are complaining and saying it should be a drop too. When they gave us all the free metallic gold dye because of the bug, people complained that it wasn't special or rare anymore. Personal housing is purchasable exclusively with gil, people complain that it's too expensive.
