It would be nice if they'd at least let us know that they're keeping an eye on these threads and delivering the feedback to the higher ups.SE is known for not addressing issues that they do not know (either the solution or the response to) if anything's an indicator, check out the thread for the 401 errors in Mog station that people up to this day (myself included.) are still having problems with, I'm sick of having to buy time cards for this game.
What's there to say for them really?
Let's be honest here. If they would post, in every single threat relating to the cash shop, something along the lines of "Thank you for your comments, we'll redirect your concerns to the appropriate channels". Would the matter be settled for you? Very likely it would not be. The fact that after 19 pages you're still replying into this topic which essentially does nothing but beat the dead horse yet again states enough I'd say.
What more could they do? Once more emphasize that the items in the cash shop are merely optional? Not required for progression, not required as part of the story? And serve no other purpose than cosmetic fluff? Would the matter be settled for you then? Judging by your opening post, no it would not.
So, what exactly is it that you're expecting from SE? Them to care that a few people dislike the cash shop being there whilst opposed to that a great number of sales is being generated through the cash shop on a daily basis? Do you expect them to approach their investors and say something along the lines of: "You know what guys, listen up. We have a problem. A few hundred members on our FF XIV forums have shown their repeated dislike to the cash shop. Despite it generating thousands of dollars per day as additional revenue, we believe we must close it down"? It's quite simply not going to happen. The fact that a cash shop was coming sooner or later was a dead giveaway. There's no MMO left on the market which doesn't go hand in hand with one. And no matter how many posts are being made, it's not going to change. Simply due to the fact that it works. Opinions and angry topics mean absolutely nothing. It is money which talks. If people wanted to have spoken out against the introduction of the cash shop, they should have done by cancelling their subscription. If a significant amount of the playerbase would have done that, SE might have reverted the decision. That didn't happen, as most people just don't care. Instead? Thousands of Sleipnir mounts were purchased. Kaching!
They do, they express this all the time. They even talked about it at the Fan Fest. First thing asked about the cash shop was P2W items and Yoshi-P and he confirmed that the vanity shop will only consist of items that have no effect on your progression at all.
Correct me if I am wrong, but did they not mention that money made from the cash shop goes straight into content creating for the game and not in the higher up's pockets?
How are they abusing me? Its items I don't care about, and if there happens to be something I like, I will buy it. Its my choice to buy these non-P2W items, not SE's. You act like SE are all laughing maniacally while thunder is rolling in the back and swimming in a pool of gold. I said this in other cash shop threads, but I think it especially applies to you. There is no need to be upset or over dramatic about it.

Every time. Every single time people try to tell us to just shut up and deal with the cash shop, this is your mentality.
"Oh, these are items I don't care about, so nobody else should."
Oh, it's OK just because not everyone cares about it. So the people who ARE getting screwed over should just shut up and deal with it.
Time and time again, this is the only argument you people have against this.
What's it like being so self-absorbed that you can't bring yourselves to care about the well-being of others?

Just like time and time again everyone on the other side's argument is that OMFG ITS GONNA BE PLAY2WIN. Which it clearly IS NOT, because it's freaking minions, and if it was there's this little thing called FREE WILL. If I look at a game and feel like it is predatory, then I'll go "Oh, I dont like this or paying this much money, I'm out" and stop playing.
If you HONESTLY believe that not being able to get a doll in a video game is ABUSE, then stop playing. And also, stop trying to portray people who decide they're okay with using their hard-earned money the way they want as uneducated sheeple. Its false equivalency to say that because you feel like something is unfair it makes people who are okay with it unintelligent or gullible.
Again, I wanted the items, bought them, feel fine. Sorry if that breaks your tender little heart.
You are so near sighted.Just like time and time again everyone on the other side's argument is that OMFG ITS GONNA BE PLAY2WIN. It's cute that you yet again mock the people that this effects as "being upset for not being able to get a doll in a video game", when the reality of it is, that it's about much more than just these few items we have in the shop now.
Again, you're clearly demonstrating that you only care about your own interests.
If I
Then I'll
I don't
I'm out
Are you intentionally thick? I said if it became play to win, there's always the option to say "No, I'm not okay with this" and stop playing. If you feel like its unfair, than why would you play?
And yes, I put it in terms of "I" so let me translate because I understand reading comprehension is hard:
"If YOU look at a game and feel like it is predatory, then YOU HAVE EVERY OPTION TO GO "Oh, I (AS IN YOU) dont like this or paying this much money, I'm (AS IN YOU'RE) out" and stop playing.
Jeez I hope they have a potion at the cash shop to cure my OBVIOUS DEEP SEATED SELF CENTEREDNESS.
Also... "so self-absorbed you can't think about the well being of others?" Dude, this ain't life or death, its a game. If you're going to say I lack compassion than you certainly seem to lack perspective something fierce.
You said SE is abusing all of us, which is not true. I don't see any more money coming out of my pocket than the amount I pay per month and still have access to all content in the game with no paywall standing in my way. Again, being over dramatic, it is minions, not Dreadwyrm gear.Every time. Every single time people try to tell us to just shut up and deal with the cash shop, this is your mentality.

The MAJORITY of the player base plays the game to progress through the story and dungeons. A small minority is heavily into crafting and to an even smaller degree is the vanity crowd. SE will always cater to the majority as that is where the profit lies.
No one is forcing people to buy these items. People buy these items because they have the money to buy them and they want them. Quite honestly SE could expand the cash shop to include X amount of gil and items and I would be fine with that to.
Again, your only argument is that we shouldn't care because other people don't.
"Why do you care that all those innocent people died? The majority doesn't care, it doesn't effect them, or their lives."
I know that this is taking it to an extreme, but it's the same type of principal.
