Engraved Goatskin Grimoire: Why No Mind?

I've always found this odd in the past, but the Engraved Goatskin Grimoire requires level 30 to equip but does not have Mind as one of its stats. Since this is the level that ACN may become SCH, I find this very strange.

On its own this may not mean much, but this book was chosen to be the Aetherial drop for ACN/SMN/SCH in both Haukke Manor and Brayflox's Longstop. For Haukke Manor, Lady Amandine drops Pupil's Leather Grimoire, which does have Mind on it yet only requires level 28 to equip. So at least there, the SCH can get a drop with Mind on it. For Brayflox's Longstop however, the Aetherial Engraved Goatskin Grimoire is the only book drop in the entire dungeon.

Not too big of a deal, but this just seems really out of place. I always noticed the lack of Mind when I saw the Aetherial drop in Haukke and Brayflox. Can anyone think of a reason it might be this way, or could this have been an oversight? Either way, I think Mind should be added since SCH can start appearing as early as Haukke Manor.

Aetherial items cannot be melded. I also would not expect the main base stat for a job to need to be melded to their gear, which is why I find it odd that it lacks Mind for the potential SCH that may be using it. It's more understandable for the lower level books, since SCH can only begin appearing at level 30.

The lack of Mind on both the Aetherial and Crafted versions of the Engraved Goatskin Grimoire is likely because of an edge case error and accidentally missed when item stats were assigned.

Also they likely figured that the first level 30 weapon a Scholar would get would be the GC Picatrix.

As is the Engraved Goatskin Grimoire, evidenced by the "ACN SMN SCH." At lower levels where SCH is not possible, this might make sense that it does not have Mind, but the Engraved Goatskin Grimoire starts appearing as dungeon loot where SCH may also start appearing.

Probably more to do with the fact that at level 28, one is still a Arcanist, which benefits little to none from MND at that point.

Pupil's Leather Grimoire has a required level to equip of 28 yet still has Mind. The Engraved Goatskin Grimoire has a higher required level to equip of 30, but does not contain Mind. In the case of obtaining these items at the required level; the guaranteed ACN is getting Mind from the Pupil's Leather Grimoire while the potential SCH is not getting Mind from the Engraved Goatskin Grimoire.

You have a point, I was not factoring in that the non aetherial item is a level 30 grimoir.

that said, it is possible that an aetherial version would drop with MND since its base attributes + randomised additional attributes up to 5 slots.

Aetherial items will only randomize the secondaries, and never add new additional primary stats different than what the base item has (Piety is not considered a primary stat, while Elemental Resistance is). In this example, every Aetherial Engraved Goatskin Grimoire will have Vitality and Intelligence since these are the primary stats that exist on the base item. The rest of the stats can only be randomized secondaries. There can never exist an Aetherial Engraved Goatskin Grimoire with Mind on it because the base item does not contain this primary stat.

Essentially, this is the reason I bring it up. If it was given to the base item, then the Aetherial item would also have it.
