Minions!

Hello!
So Christmas is coming up and I'd like to surprise my raid team with presents.
Preferably the minions sold in cash shop at the moment and I was wondering if anyone knew if they could be gifted/traded.

When I was in the purchase screen at the cash shop it only gave me the option to buy it for my character. I would really like to gift then though ;0

Are they tradeable in game?
Preferably an answer from a GM would be best but if anyone knows please let me know! I'd really appreciate it! :3

As an aside though, gifting items may open up some opportunities for trading in game currencies for out of in game currencies. In a roundabout way it would make a legitimate way to buy gil. Would have to consider that if they allow this option.

Double aside XD, I would like to be able to wrap items so I can mail/trade them as a present. If this is already in game then *doh*, I didn't see it.

Please don't support the cash shop. Why not buy them some minions in the game with your gil?

:0 I see your concern but it's honestly just one of those things where I think it'd be an appropriate scheme for the season we're in.

I'm the raid leader of my group. We've been together from t5-t12 and I want to show my appreciation for them. :< if we're gonna have a cash shop at all why not make it for things like this? If people are gonna buy Gil it will be bought, whether it's through sites or through cash shop exchanges.

P.S. Please don't make this a pro cash shop against cash shop thread. I'll spend my money how I want.

I would completely support this as well, Rosilee! I really wish that there were a gifting option available. I would absolutely love to surprise some of my friends with a Wind-Up Papalymo! Or even a few of them with the ghost costumes that they missed out on from the 2013 season.

Kudos to the thoughtful idea for gifts! Who cares what people think about the cash shop when used in such a thoughtful way.

Unfortunately, the minions are account based and are not able to be traded. :/
So yeah, gonna have to think of something different for your awesome group.

If there was a dislike button I would not be able to hit it enough for this comment. One, nobody asked you if you liked the Cash Shop or not. Two, way to rain on someone trying to do something nice for their friends. If a person wants to buy something in the cash shop they shouldn't have go through picketers like you to do so. Whether you support the cash shop or not, your contribution to this persons question was rude.

Sadly they don't have anything you can gift - not even fantasias. Your only option to give something ff14-related would be to buy time cards and give your friends the codes, but that'd be expensive. (they should add 5/10-day giftable time cards to the shop... That'd actually be a nice addition).

PS.I don't personally support the cash shop but I think it's sweet you wanted to use it to show appreciation for your online friends.

Even though you seem to want it for the right reasons, gifting or tradable shop items would certainly lead to sanctioned/legit gil buying. In both Rift and SWTOR if you need in-game currency the easiest thing to do is buy some cash shop items then sell them in-game. Some people even advertise like"I'll buy whatever you want, and for every dollar I spend you pay me x amount of gold." This would certainly cross the pay to win line.

There is a purchasable currency, Crysta? Is that it? Is that giftable? If it is, then you could gift them enough for a minion.
