Sadly they don't have anything you can gift - not even fantasias. Your only option to give something ff14-related would be to buy time cards and give your friends the codes, but that'd be expensive. (they should add 5/10-day giftable time cards to the shop... That'd actually be a nice addition).

PS.I don't personally support the cash shop but I think it's sweet you wanted to use it to show appreciation for your online friends.

Even though you seem to want it for the right reasons, gifting or tradable shop items would certainly lead to sanctioned/legit gil buying. In both Rift and SWTOR if you need in-game currency the easiest thing to do is buy some cash shop items then sell them in-game. Some people even advertise like"I'll buy whatever you want, and for every dollar I spend you pay me x amount of gold." This would certainly cross the pay to win line.

There is a purchasable currency, Crysta? Is that it? Is that giftable? If it is, then you could gift them enough for a minion.

Double aside XD, I would like to be able to wrap items so I can mail/trade them as a present. If this is already in game then *doh*, I didn't see it.

It's not that I've seen. I really want SE to implement something like this.
