    Why are there not gatherer and crafter duties and dungeons?

    Seriously, I see this as a huge missed opportunity. Does Square Enix not see this as a great idea? Supposedly crafting and gathering jobs were supposed to be "equal" to War jobs.


    "The big fishing contest" Queue up with 3 other fishers to catch the biggest fish, the biggest fish at the end gets a bonus?

    "The Kings New throne" Queue up in a group of 4 gatherers and 4 crafters, You have been locked up in an area where the gatherers must gather the perfect ingredients, then ship them over to each crafter who will make the individual components to create the throne. Then you all work on the final craft by selecting the throne?

    What about a new fishing mechanic where if you get a huge fish you may be unable to catch, It announces to other fishermen near you "He's got a big one, go help him!" and they can run over and try to spear it/hook it, put a net under it for you to increase your chances of catching it?

    I just think we're really missing the possible camaraderie that would come from crafters and gatherers working together in a more direct way.

    I support this and any other idea for crafters & gatherers to have fun things to do! Even bring back Hamlet Defense, or some new and improved version of it.

    What I think might be neat is a duty with gatherers/crafters AND the other disciples.

    Example: Light party: 1 crafter OR gatherer, 1 healer, 1 DPS, 1 DPS OR TANK.
    Duty: Escort crafter/gatherer to specified location and protect from oncoming mobs while the gatherer/crafter does its assigned task.

    Monster difficulty adjusts based on whether the last spot is filled by either a DPS or tank (this is so queue times aren't terrible).

    Those are both great ideas! I'm sure we could think of a bunch of great scenarios for this type of thing.

    They could have a tie in with the planned idea to be able to control a GC unit to enter the older dungeons.

    Have it where instead those current dungeon items that are used to craft furniture are only found in 1 or 2 chest they could make it where you go in witha unit of 5, 4 being the NPCs you trained and the player as a Fisher/Botanist/Miner and you progress through the dungeon and go through the dungeons but rather than the main focus be reaching the end of the dungeon, it would be exploration and looking for the nodes to obtain unique materials.

    With this though they could add a limit to how often it could be done, like a fatigue for the NPCs when you go on that type of dungeon Duty with them, this way if you wanted to lv with your NPCs in the older dungeons you could still do that and just make the other aspect a time based one that you can do maybe 2-3 times a day.
