Answered my question, thank you. I play on PS4 so /facetarget macro it is. Was having some huge problems with bennus being LoS'd. the macros you listed are the exact ones I happen to use.You should never use macros, they prevent buffering an ability. /wait or no /wait. If you play on PC I'd suggest tapping your 'F' key while casting rather than using a /facetarget macro. Either way never macro your damage abilities. the only macros you should use are for Aetherial manipulation (mouse over or numbered target), Apocatastasis (numbered target, targets target or mouse over), and eye for an eye (target's target or mouseover). There really is no reason to use macros otherwise on blm.
The problem is, that unlike on a PC where you can spam the F key and continually face target even while casting (from what I understand at least), there is no way to set that up to work on PS4 with a controller.
Sure, the Auto-Face Target works... until you need to face target mid-cast. =P
/facetarget mid-cast always caused me to interrupt casting, did they do something to change it since early days of ARR?The problem is, that unlike on a PC where you can spam the F key and continually face target even while casting (from what I understand at least), there is no way to set that up to work on PS4 with a controller.

Any macro including an on-GCD skill has the potential to induce delay. Say you cast Fire, 2.5s GCD. You press Fire again when you still have 0.5s left, you'll begin casting Fire as soon as the first is finished. If Fire were part of a macro, if you pressed it at 0.5s left then nothing would happen. You would have to press it after the previous GCD completely ended in order to begin casting it, and unless you can somehow perfectly press it at the exact moment every time, you're adding small delays with each cast when using a macro.
Can just press it once; it will persist even through multiple casts until you move, change targets, or press it again.
