I just hope this whining doesn't mean that you really want a carry from people who already cleared it.. Because if it is, you're gonna jump to the point of being ellitist which has mindset "can't clear it = having no skill at all to improve" like so many players i've encountered so far..I recognize that this is because I'm very behind on content and everyone is already up to the higher Turns, but it's difficult to catch up when the only people still running T5 in DF are the ones that can't clear it.
As far as proving myself, what Ai Hana said about not having a chance to is accurate. When I used to run stuff with my FC the people further along than me were impressed that I was a fast learner and could play my class well, but that didn't really come to anything as far as a group for raiding goes.
In my view, people can actually clear it with the OP 20% echo and current OP gear for T5, if they actually try and have patience..
Good luck with your endeavors. Thanks a lot for all of the posts, guys. I'll try some of the methods mentioned here, although it's not like I haven't ever tried them before. I've sat in a PF for hours just to have no one join, and for the past week or so I've logged in to wait in DF for Turn 5 and haven't even gotten in the instance. I recognize that this is because I'm very behind on content and everyone is already up to the higher Turns, but it's difficult to catch up when the only people still running T5 in DF are the ones that can't clear it.

Some nice people on my server did invite me to their linkshell though, so that might help me find people.
Thanks again, I really appreciate all of the responses.Join lots of PFs for Primal EXs and the like and prove your worth to them. The Linkshell is a good start and a few players in other threads have gotten some success as such. Figure out who you can rely on and build around that core to get the rest.
Above all, don't give up!
Maybe it's time to consider that your server just isn't the right one for you then? The bigger servers get newer players all the time and people running content for a multitude of things all the time. The day that you posted this reply above, I asked my husband if there were any T5 groups in PF and there were two waiting on a tank and another waiting on two DPS. I have no idea what Diabolos is like but maybe a bigger server is actually the answer for you.
DF is a nightmare in the NA servers. Sometimes you get clears, other times you get lots of practice. I've never had luck with a T5 DF group. PF all the way. Seriously though, this being old content does not prevent people who are further along to want to come and help. 100 Soldiery is way too nice and wiping a few times still makes it less of a time investment than CT or ST.
You and these FC members do not sound like you're at the same point at all. As an FC leader myself, I do help with an FC member's clears but even if I'm impressed with them it can't lead to anything. My static is full up. Do as we've said, T5 clear PF, get through second coil, and get on T9 asap. Make your own PF often. Nothing static wise will happen until T9 is cleared. And if your PFs don't fill up, take a look at the trend and see what is normally up there. As far as proving myself, what Ai Hana said about not having a chance to is accurate. On Cactuar, we have everything from third coil learnings/clears, Primal focus parties, pony farms, T5, EX farming, and SCoB farm parties. We literally have everything. If you don't see this sort of selection above, consider as I said above that you may not be on the right server.
That's clearly not what I meant and there's no point posting just to try to argue. I'm looking for advice, not whining, and most people have been helpful. I'm not interested in a carry and I'm certainly not elitist; when I do dungeons with new players I always make sure to explain the mechanics and I don't mind helping people through old content. You missed the point of this thread.
Thanks, this is all solid advice. I'll continue trying the things that were suggested.
It's strange because I think Diabolos is a fairly big server, since I've tried to get irl friends to join and the server was often full. Honestly it may be because I mostly can play at night.
That would be nice if my FC had that kind of stuff, but I think we only have one static and it's full. I don't think I want to leave at this point but I might try bringing it back up with my FC leader. I know that kind of thing is difficult to put together though, especially with the lack of interest within the group.
Hunt out a New FC.
My wife and I did and well within a week we finally cleared Turn 5 they do pirmals on Thursday and raid on Mondays. They fit us in.
That or change FFXIV > everything else.
