How do I find a static raid group?

And reddit is suppoed be better in what way? It is just more forums of gibberish. Is this not the primary FFXIV forums? Shouldn't straight forward stuff like finding a static happen here on these forums? Redirecting people is just more smoke and mirrors and the OP of that thread has been radio silent since so who knows what came of it.

There are a number of reasons why there are fan communities that operate away from official forums. Would you like me to spell out to you why that is?

Actually you should spell it out. I don't know why people would want those forums to be better than this one.

-Official forums may have moderation rules/policies that some players find disagreeable.
-Accessibility can be better on unofficial community sites. The official forums aren't super pleasant to use on a mobile device, for example.
-There is also no live chat client interface on the official forums, whereas unofficial sites may have their own VoIP servers or IRC chat.
-Sites like Reddit have features that the official forums do not. The live Nexus light bonus thread is one example.

Those are reasons just off the top of my head.

He got info about where he could better find what he was looking for. I think his thread on these forums helped him out in that respect.

Even if its a forum of gibberish, when more community actually uses it, it attracts more people than any other places.. When you are jobless, you just shouldnt try to find a job from one place and waiting the end of the world..

I am not being pessimistic, the evidence in these threads speak for themselves. More effort is put in to tell me to be quiet than actual help for the OP. I'll be the very first to admit that I've come across helpful raiders, because I wouldn't be making progress without their help, but for every 1 helpful raiders there are too many people that don't care about anyone else, and you see them in the those dozen or so PF that say "farm, no newbies wanted", "must have multiple clears", etc. etc.

Lame~~ of course it does, because you give more effort to put comments when the OP is gone somewhere nobody even know where to or how, thus making his lack of effort trying to find a static.. But then again, i take it that he mostly only asks people on how to find one..
What you said isnt completely rubbish, but the way you're bringing em out in the middle of optimistic people are being pessimistic..

Thanks a lot for all of the posts, guys. I'll try some of the methods mentioned here, although it's not like I haven't ever tried them before. I've sat in a PF for hours just to have no one join, and for the past week or so I've logged in to wait in DF for Turn 5 and haven't even gotten in the instance. I recognize that this is because I'm very behind on content and everyone is already up to the higher Turns, but it's difficult to catch up when the only people still running T5 in DF are the ones that can't clear it.

As far as proving myself, what Ai Hana said about not having a chance to is accurate. When I used to run stuff with my FC the people further along than me were impressed that I was a fast learner and could play my class well, but that didn't really come to anything as far as a group for raiding goes.

Some nice people on my server did invite me to their linkshell though, so that might help me find people.
