can we please talk about character customization options?

I'm saying that tanks tend to have qualities to the weight of armor, mages do not. Hence the stats (check your tank's strength vs mage's).

A suit of plate armour evenly distributes the weight around your body and is actually surprisingly easy to wear. If you have the strength to heft a staff around like crazy, you can wear at least light plate armour without much difficulty.

But like, say I want to play a healer that's a front-line battlefield medic with armour for protection, rather than some back-line robe-wearing healer. That should really be an option if tanks can wear heavy armour or robes as they see fit (FFXI had a WHM-equippable haubergeon as a token offering for mage armour, even).

I'd like to be able to wear two face paints at once. You wanna wear blush, that's cool. You want wear eye shadow? Yus! Oh wait. You want to wear both at once? Hell to the naw! Also, I want more long hairstyles. Like long cocktail hour luscious curls, cute ponies like serah's from ffxiii, and forever long rapunzel locks like Shiva's. Please and thank you!

Also, change your mind about removing glamour restrictions... it's COMPLETELY INEQUITABLE that tanks can wear all kinds of armor-types (robes) but mages can't wear virtually anything but cloth.

And along that same logic, I find it rather absurd that their are item-pairs for the two genders, with one of them locked to females only but the other free for all to wear..... just curious, really.

I wish they would add the option to increase butt sizes. I believe they said that they would not do it because of how difficult it would be to change the graphics with armor, or something like that. I fail to see the difference. Isn't it no different than bust size changes?

Longer hair styles would be amazing, even as a ponytail that won't interfere with armor.

Personally, I really wish they would add tattoo options. I see the 1.0 tattoo and the one that the rogue gear has, and it makes me sad that I can't use them "permanently" on my character.

I'd also like to see cloaks added. The wedding veil sure shows that devs do have the tools to make them (and their flowing mechanics are actually GOOD). The fact that they restricted them to the Ivory Church makes me think the real issue for them is the weight on data on their servers.

It's true that one may argue that simple hardware upgrades are not gonna magically solve all the game's issues.
But face it, when it is used as an argument (whether it's an empty excuse or an actual explanation) in why pretty much anything we're asking for can't be done, it might just be sort of nice to, y'know, get that out of the way, perhaps.

I don't think it would be any more difficult, but the bust size changes were planned from the beginning. So the character models and armor were designed around that, but I think to add in a butt slider after the fact would mean to go back and edit almost every single piece of armor in the game.

It's like if you're building a house, you pour out the foundation for all the rooms you want, then build the walls, put on the roof, construct the interior...and then someone asks for another bedroom right in the middle of the house. It wouldn't have been any more difficult to build than the rooms already there, if it had been planned for in the beginning, but now it would be much more difficult

I wouldn't mind an option to turn off showing accessories.

Glamour them with the Emperor's New Accessories, sold by the vendor in Mor Dhona.

When I read Character customisation I thought finally! the subject of making our characters meaningfully different through specialising traits and abilities has come to the forum's attention!. Then I read the OP.

Sure, new hairstyles are cool too.

There are some things they just have to say, "you know what, it's going to take extra work but we'll do it for you".

Too many times they take the easy route because "they can offer us 'more' other things instead"... which actually feels sort of rude because a lot of the time we want the ONE thing instead of the 'more' other things.

SE, please understand that some of the time we'd PREFER you give us less if it's ACTUALLY the thing that we REALLY WANT.

Like taking time out of delivering certain content to give us Chocobo's during Queue or a TP Bar or new Beards instead of Hairstyles.
