    Seriously? This is a fresh install of windows and just installing the game via the client download on the XIV website.

    I have a 71Mbps connection and the download for this wont go over 0.08Mbps for the full game... Nothing is blocking it, my router is set up right, exceptions are set on FW and AV disabled.

    Is this just SE being piss poor at patching as usual?

    I'm having the same issue. Appears to be a bottleneck in the network somewhere on the SE side.

    I've gone as far as putting my machine in DMZ just to see if it was a traffic problem on my side.

    I can however ping the login server and don't see any latency there, so I'm not sure what this is all about. Would love some input from SE on this one.

    I've tried putting the folders into full access, which isn't doing anything as they default back to Read-Only, Tried re installing the launcher, DMZing my machine, Checking Port forwards, rebooted computer, rebooted network, hell I even tried logging in on my PS3.

    ISP is not blocking the ports used by FFXIV so I don't know what else could be going on other than the login server being difficult for some reason.

    I have this issue everytime I need to install an update in the game. It peaks at. 02 mbps.

    I found if I run a download speed test then it picks up substantially. Not sure why.

    So after spending a fair amount of time in chat with TS, which was as helpful as a hole in the head, the only thing the two of us figured out was that there was a slightly high delay on the Level3 equipment at the moment, but unfortunatly 300ms response time shouldn't be high enough to really affect the patching system like this. So I'll just keep chasing it and if I find a solution I'll let you know!

    So I resolved my issue. Apparently Netflix was bottlenecking the connection, despite the network equipment having been rebooted. Never had that issue before, but in this instance that's what was causing my patching issue.

    As a note, Netflix was running through my PS3 which was not connected to PSN at the time, so it may have been some port that was choking it up for some reason. Just make sure all your streaming services are off, then restart the launcher and see if that takes care of it for you.
