Some games actually show male nipples and there not even that sexy. Im grown up to expect nipples. what I dont expect is speedo's and naked harnesses.

I am guessing there is good reason why there is no nipples on show in FF XIV so i can't see that ever changing, so there's always going to have to be something on top and considering this is Square Enix it's always going to make you look like a woman. Does it really matter though? It's just a holiday event item.

Akira has a point. If they are going to show off the male nipples, they would have to do the same for the females. I am not a feminist but I am sure there are some women gamers out there that will demand equality in that... in some strange, twisted fashion.

Personally I do not like the look of the male swimwear - the top is what puts me off. The bottoms are great. Perhaps you guys will need to mix and match, getting rid of the event top altogether. =) The swimwear for the females, on elezen, do not look good at all. It amazes me that all female characters have bodacious boobs in the coatee but come to the bikini top - what the hell happened? Someone suggested it was the FFXIV version of the Victoria's Secret Miracle bra in the coatee... Whatever the case may be, my elezen is way too lanky for that swimwear. I have to put a different top on.

I'm starting to think the western world is far too obsessed with what is feminine and masculine. Honestly, these swimwears are really neat! It adds a "flare" of a different culture. This is what Eorzean men wear when they swim. Sorry?

I really actually like it, and I don't understand how some of you say the poses are feminine either. The Elezen one makes them seem shy/bashful, not feminine. But to each their own.

I guess I really just don't understand the complaints. It's not like they make you wear a dress.

Edit: Personally, they remind me of the normal npc gear from Zanarkand.

Because our culture is different. those swim suits and the Elezen pose are very feminine to me and most everyone I know who lives in the US. People don't need to understand that, things are excepted differently all over the world. Their opinions should be respected at least though.

those tight shorts are fairly normal in other places of the world I have been to. But, here in the states, if someone is wearing those, chances are, they may very likely be "fruity". And you will never ever ever see any man wearing whatever those tops are. Maybe they do in other places, but I have yet to see it.

LOL i think a speedo and no top would actually go a long way to look more manly. As it stands were wearing something a little queer. Males wearing bathing suit tops is not normal so the mind thinks of females bathing suit tops and concludes that we look slightly female in them.

I've seen speedos and no shirts on men, as it stands all our bodies in this game are perfect wonders of greek soldiers in movies so less clothes is perfectly appropriate and manly. It's just strange with the top and the bottom is kinda wierd, not something ive seen men wearing.

Jokes aside the game requires all characters to have somthing in the top and bottom underwear slot, this is probably why they added the top for men, i mean we have a neck slot so we couldnt have a chain of any sort, the alternative is to have a transparent undershirt which would just be wierd, why would anyone use a transparent undershirt?
