    Sure... but what if BiS wasn't so clear? What if, shock of all shocks, gear was unique enough that some people would covet one stat while others would want another? That's really the point I was making.

    Currently gear has only a few stat bonuses anyone actually cares about. [Main Stat] + Vitality + [insert secondary here]. It's really easy to tell which is the 'best' when they're all basically identical. Now if you had to choose between, for example ,"Enhances Berserk effect" or "Enhances Defiance" the BiS isn't quite so easy to judge. On the one hand, having a stronger berserk would be great for DPS, on the other having a better Defiance may result in stronger heal potency or increased enmity.

    That's one thing FFXI did well. Gear was so diverse that it wasn't often you saw people wearing identical outfits. Some would favour one stat bonus over another, which keeps things interesting and makes a great reward for killing a NM. It doesn't need to be 'best in slot' to be worth owning, and if you can't understand that then maybe you should play some other MMO's once in a while to expand your limitations.

    People have given ways that this could be controlled. Even I did in my previous post. It's your choice whether or not to read them, but at least people are acknowledging there are ways to exploit the old NM system and are offering ways to counter it.

    Yea, I have read this and the 1245346543 other threads like this, there is not a single good idea on how to bring FFXI/1.xx's style of open world NM in here. You have the hunts, you have treasure maps, and several other ways to bring the NM style mobs to the open field. What people want is to recreate the toxic behavior/community that happened back in FFXI. Please don't pretend this would not be a thing if FFXI/1.xx's style was implemented. People will find a way to exploit the system, like bots and addons, which yes were a thing even with the Hunt system in FFXIV.

    Let me ask you something. Would you rather find a very rare treasure map to spawn an S-Rank like mob just for your party, or go through windows and fighting other people for a mob in an open area that will ultimately be taken over by exploits and cheating? I bet you SE would listen to the first one.

    It was mentioned a few pages back how NMs should drop gear below the current Raid gear, with new harder NMs added every new patch to keep this trend going. We also talked about force popped NMs using items. Basically, you're trembling in fear that we'll end up with botting, long windows, and and people fighting over claims.

    However, with a 10m/1 Eorzea day respawn/force respawns, high drop rates and gear that isn't worth pursuing as BiS by raiders, it will work out just fine.

    Hunts were terrible and toxic because since each and every one of them gave points to get BiS gear. This is not the case with the system I'm advocating for.

    If it has any form of progression in gear, everyone will be all over it and yes it will get exploited, stop kidding yourself. If it doesn't, then it is pointless content and no one will do it, which in the developer's eyes, is a waste of time on their end, and I do not blame them one bit.

    So you are going to compile a list of bad ideas in the OP so you can avoid people like me who look at how the systems work from all angles and not just the one way mindset? Okay.

    You didn't read it because you're arguing points that were already addressed.

    Like it was mentioned before, gear doesn't have to be on par with raid gear for the High lvl NMs, meaning that it will still be used for alts, and by new lv50 players to gear up to catch up with content. Respawns are fast or forced and drop rates are high enough that there shouldn't be a million people camping it after the initial rush. Oh and the "if its not raid then its a waste" argument. Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man
