And what will be the difference between Hunt and NM?
The claim system don't get changed, so the only thing that would bring a difference are private NMs (from a leve or a treasue map) instead of free running NMs.

Maybe something less relevant to huge keyboard-faceroll that hunt is?
The claim system should be obviously changed for those said NMs to become private, it would be a necessity mechanic wise.
Take off those rose-tinted glasses just for a second, you call it a catch-up device, even though there's exclusive GC gear that can only be obtained through hunts? I wouldn't call ilvl70 gear a "catch-up".
If you're talking about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJNAI_8aVCI then yeaa wooo look how FUN that is, so exciting... [/sarcasm]
Ever thought that it's a zerg-fest because oh, I don't know... ARR has gone way above and beyond what 1.0 did in-terms of subs hence a crap-ton more players?
Perhaps if ARR was as slow and sluggish as 1.0 then you might enjoy them more, *sigh*.

You are right good sir, I totally forgot to add something in my sentance :
Fixed! No, Hunt = Catch-up update device delivering free handed stuffs to static-less people, iced with insults on /sh chat, radar users, huge zerg-fest and glamour stuffs provider![]()
On a side note, I'm not asking for a "slow and sluggish" game but having more openworld stuffs to do would be a good thing for the health of FFXIV.
Also, linking an 1.0 video just to make the thing looking wrong and bad is a low move from your side1.0 is no more and it is obvious that a fight like shown in your link couldn't work with ARR battle mechanics. It's like comparing apples and oranges.
Note : No offenses and don't take it as a personal attackbut we all know that they will add carbontwine and carboncoat in January for 2.5, they even raised the allied seal cap to 4000 to "prepare" the field ^.^ and so, the "Catch-up update device" will once more rise for the static-less players.
At least show a much more interesting NM videoIf you're talking about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJNAI_8aVCI then yeaa wooo look how FUN that is, so exciting... [/sarcasm]

I don't have anything against NM. Only don't expect it to be something else than another zerg content if they would be free NMs like the ones in Hunt.
Private NMs reserved to the party is the way to go. May it be with a treasure map, leve, or something else that worked like behest or chocobo caravan during 1.x (free to join open world content with a max. participants cap, where you just speak to a NPC to join)

...I couldn't watch the whole thing without getting bored, if that's your idea of a counter-arguement then it didn't work, it still looks slow and boring. At least show a much more interesting NM video

Nooooo... really? I never knew that. I was using them as examples, and funny enough I took a screenshot earlier of, oh my is that an A Rank surrounded by smaller versions of itself? I must be seeing things.
and once said piece of gear for specific jobs is given a BiS in online guides, EVERYONE will have it and it won't be "unique" anymore, alas completing the circle of gear.
So what makes hunt mobs and NMs different from each other? HP? Drops? How they look? Attack patterns? Spawn rates?
Other than S ranks, hunt mobs just appear anywhere with no reason, they don't drop anything, and you just do them to get points.
We all know Maahes. Wouldn't it be more fun if he only popped at night every night, howled so loud that you can hear him from any place in the zone to freak out all the noobies and dropped a special item for killing him like maybe "Panther Jacket" drop rate 100% since it only pops at night instead of every 10 minutes?
