    Yoshida: I think it’s good where other players can help and with later alliance battle where few parties get together we really think we don’t need the claiming system. Contents that drop rare items will be more instance based in future, and will also lessen where you have to fight over to claim.

    This is all anyone knows and it's for the birds.

    Other mmos do it that way and it works pretty well i must say. Why wouldn't it work well here? If i understand what they want to do is that this way players can actually help you out but the 1st attacker gets the loot... just like in WOW or other mmorpgs.... it won't make a noticable difference when playing trust me.

    I think I never like claim system to begin with.
    It is just too weird feeling when we see a newbies adventure gonna die by wild monster and our kind-heart player can't go to help them because the mob is claimed by him. Look at dot/hack anime and how it is adventure like when people can interact more. (but we can just leave the PK system out from it for the good shake.)

    This is the truely another perfect example of talking about something in which you have absolutely no clue about. Which MMOS did it fail?

    I garuntee you, that you can't list any at all with out looking it up....I can name 3 successful MMOs with it just off the top of my head.........

    Once you look one up, I am sure you will chose a weak MMO in general and us it to support your point. Thus further making your lack of knowledge on the subject, and thus your comment, even more irrelavent.

    In FFXI, you can call for help. Rendering the mob unclaimed.

    I think the party leader, or just individual if they aren't in a party, should have an option, similar to the old "call for help" function, except one that doesn't destroy the chance for loot.

    That way, they could achieve their goals for allowing players, not all in the same party, to team up and take down various contents... But if you are solo farming, and some jerk (every server has 'those guys' who are total jerks) shows up, he can't just start eating all your mobs and taking your drops just because he plays a DD and you play a tank or healer, and because you can't actually claim anything...

    So yeah, while that system would have it's merits for various things, let's face it... It would be HIGHLY capable of abuse, and we just don't live in a perfect world here.... Some people are complete douchebags, and would just love that system so they could troll people for the rest of their days in this game. They would exploit whatever mechanic was in charge of deciding who gets the loot and exp, and for example, if it was damage... They'd turn their char into a glass cannon so they could let you whittle the mob down, then hawk all the loot and exp at the last minute, until you get discouraged and leave.

    It just seems like a shitty idea without some kind of toggle so you can choose to actually claim mobs that you attack, or allow them to be teamed up on by other people. And 95% of the time, that's what I'd do... Always happy to share loot and fun with others... But that other 5% of the time, when it's some dickhead trying to troll you... Well, you want the option to claim things.

    Granted, the other side of the coin is the whole bot-claiming thing... But I think a better way to deal with that is with stuff such as varying spawn locations, GM's that actually investigate/ban botting claims, and continued security efforts to detect and autoban 3rd party tools where applicable. Or maybe allow ONLY HNM's to be claim shared.

    the info given did already state that the party that landed the first hit would be the only one that would get loot from the kill. rendering any kind of abuse pointless, as it would just assist people.
