    oh wow once again caps lock and complaining about others complaining.

    mobs dropping unique untradeable gear have contributed alot to the dying economy. it means crafting gear to sell has become much more difficult because why would someone go buy a r25 piece of gear for 20k when they can get a drop for free from the dungeons. like it or not this is part of the problem with the sluggish economy.

    the proposed claim system nobody knows anything about. it is taking the statement from a once again vague statement and trying to figure out how it can work or not work. im sure if we had more information the groups would actually have a reason to support or oppose it.

    the right direction is an opinionated statement. i can say it is going in the complete wrong direction and my opinion is no more valid than yours is. nobody really cares who likes and does not like their opinion here. i'm sure you do not care if anyone doesn't like your opinion either.

    Materia system will reboost the economy and an AH would do wonders as well but let's get back to topic. You said it is an opinion and although that maybe true it is an opinion backed by facts. The current changes that the game is going through and with the release of 1.18 prove to everyone that saying the game is going in the right direction is actually a true statement. With the release of 1.18 I seen a flood of new players and old players who had quit come back and are still playing the game.

    It was clearly a very close race. only off by a few %. The two that you could vote for were really similar only very small differences. I say like I always do let us not complain about what we don't truly know about yet, let him post in clear cut English so we can understand exactly what they mean and what they plan to do with the claiming system before we start complaining about stuff. I guess that might be asking too much of this lot though.

    no you are blinded by what you want to see. my ls has lost quite a few of its members. since the update we have lost at least 15 of our 117 members and have replaced them with 2. granted we have seen 2 or 3 that have come on a few times since. the world is more dead because even when people are playing they are inside an instance so you don't see anyone. i'll also point out that the 15 members we have lost are members we've had since release and constant players.

    Stuff like this is going to ruin the actual "socializing" part and replace it with a bunch of people rushing a mob. Pre-NM nerfs, low manning was the best part of the game. Having Random Dude A and Rank 25 Random dude B run up and start swinging takes way too much out of this.

    If anyone can acess melee to a claimed enemy I think that would cause major problems to the gameplay. Not just that but also would also mess up the main party. If monster is gainning extra TP from outside courses it will spam its attacks none stop and kill the main party.

    Here is how I think RMT would exploit it.

    You and your buddies are about to fight a NM. You get the claim. You've been looking forward to this for the past week. You've discussed tactics over and over, you're ready for a tough fight...

    RMT wants to farm and they want you to hurry up and get it over with. They jump in the fight and are overlevelled/overnumbered for it so it all ends extremely quickly.

    Or instead of RMT, it could just be other impatient players who want to hurry it all. Same difference. They'd just jump in to rush you through the fight.

    In a more crowded game world, wouldn't most NM fights turn into a overcrowded beat down like behests were originally like?

    You still get the gear, but what you don't get is any enjoyment there was to be had from the game play.

    One of the things that could be done to curb groups from monopolizing NM's is to set up a system similar to FFXI's ENM system. This entailed NM's that were spawned, but for 14 the developers could extend it to all NM. The particulars of this system were that anyone who fought the NM would not be able to see it the next time it was spawned for a fixed amount of time. This would allow groups to rotate claims on the higher tier NM's that require groups to bring them down.

    Alternatively for smaller NM's that can be easily soloed by higher rank characters, simply make the NM unable to drop the special item if the person is not within level range (10 ranks within the NM) so that people still have to group up in order to kill it and get the drop without worry of high rank solo individuals rotating to get claim and bring the NM down trying to get the drop. For this to be more beneficial, developers could alter the drop rate (3~8% adjustment depending on difficulty) so that groups would not have to constantly fight the NM for the drop or worry they might get beyond the rank limit before getting the specific drop they are camping the NM for.

    To me, these would be far better ideas for curbing RMT or like minded individuals rather than tossing the claim system to the wind. Additionally, the wording of how the other system (no-claim system) works left me under the impression that the drop could still shift to who ever generated more enmity on the NM through the duration of the fight. This would only serve to cater RMT or like minded individuals not curb it.

    The current system dose needs changing though, I'm not 100% if this or isn't a solution that will work but I doubt any system will work for everyone.
    But at the least players should be able to help others after those changes, so I would rather see the change happen, then not.

    I still believe any form of static NM needs removing, and a more dynamic system adding.
    With a move towards NM having a chance to drop an item you trade for items.
