    Bring Forced Spawn Notorious Monsters, and purchase spawn items with gear currency.

    Just like it sounds.

    Your War is all geared up, and you got extra poetics? Trade them to Herman, and he'll give you an item for a forced spawn monster to fight.

    That monster has a chance to drop any number of weapons/armor that are not only glamour friendly, but with unique attributes.

    Maybe a Shield that has added Magic Defense.
    Or a Cane that allows Regen double potency, for half the duration.
    Or an Axe that randomly activated bloodbath a % of the time.
    A tank chest piece that has +10 Resistance to all elements.

    I'm just throwing out spontaneous ideas, but comming from FFXI, and loving things like ZNM's and similar types, I think this would be a great addition.

    People doing end game, and waiting for FCOB drops could use excess Poetics to spawn mobs for real world fights. While those specializing in a single class could do the same.

    Or maybe your just a gambler, and would rather spend your poe for a chance at rare items than guaranteed gear.

    Anyhow, the more diversity in gear selection the better, and the more things to do in game the better. Could have 4 man monsters, 8 man monsters, full alliance monsters. God I miss this kinda content.

    I don't think they are ready to make gear with those kind of buffs, but I would like to see more gear with some of the stats that exist right now but are rarely ever used, like say a Gysahl Ring has heavy resistance. You never see those kind of stats on higher level gear. We could have more options if they used stuff like that to differentiate between stuff of the same level.

    I'm just throwing out some examples. An Earring that increased cure potency by 2% would still have players seeking it out. However it's a more a cry for content and diversity in gear selection, than those listed drops.

    I am totally down for that, anything to increase diversity. I think the answer right now is a no because they don't want to make it harder to balance difficulty, but you never know for the future, we could be seeing lots of changes to gameplay.

    I like the idea of using currency to fight a monster to get a better reward than the equivalent from just buying the gear with the same currency. If not horizontal progression, then maybe vertical with i125 stuff from the monster chest vs i120 stuff from currency - both upgradable to i130 but one starts out higher if you can beat the monster to obtain it.

    e: Vanity gear would also be sweet, but I think that it would have to be a guaranteed drop for that to work. Maybe varying types of armor for the monster chests, each set being more rare than the next.

    A neat idea. I'd like to see gear with varying job/class related ability buffs. Even cool vanity works.

    FFXI had it's share of things wrong with it.. but force spawn NM's were entirely right. Anyone who ever hunted Gods in Sky or did Sea can appreciate how casual a thing forced spawn NM's were by comparison. No one could camp them (monopolize them).

    Even Hunts, got monopolized to a point. On Gilgamesh, we had one LS serving the entire population of the server. And while SteakTheory handled it very well considering, it was still a monopoly. I heard on other servers it was much worse.

    Essentially they have a system that could be tweaked for this in their treasure maps. They could even elaborate on the maps for something like this. Except I would want there to be more to it than just what it is.

    yeah i like this idea, right now i'm at 1100 sol and i don't really want to use it on filler equipment or crafting items. but to get special equips that has potential effects on em won't really twerk the game balance if only this could happen
