How can i uh turn it off???????

its nice and all but i dont enjoy it everywhere i go

You can only turn off the entire music for the game itself.

Main Menu -> Configuration -> Sounds (I think) -> Music Slider

There's no way to disable the event music and get the old one. Just turn it off and play some FF soundtracks while you play that's what I do ;D

There were some changes in the mechanics and battle. You'll have to login and play a while to check for yourself. But I can mention some things that you might miss:

> A lot of new side-quests all over the world.
> Dungeons, one for r25 and the other for r45.
> Side-quests and main storyline quests now give SP as rewards.
> Grand Companies, one per city-state. You can join once you hit r22, and get SP and some cool gear from each one. You can join all of them right now, but in the future you have to select only one.
> Random "invasions" from the Garlean Empire happening across the world. (suited for r25 and above)
> We have swimsuits!
> CON is now more like a white mage since THM can't heal more than one person.
> Cure and it's siblings now cost way more MP.

And a lot of changes that 1.18 brought. You should read the > patch notes < to give you a general idea of how things have changed.
