I'm currently waiting for a UK release price or anything this side of the pond, as the UK Amazon site has nothing about it at allI'm willing to pay whatever price

As others have said, I think $29.99 would be on point for the price of an expansion.
Some people have said they bought the game for that much, but not EVERYBODY did. If you bought ARR for the lowest price when it launched, you probably did. (I don't remember pricing for it)
If you bought FFXIV 1.0 you paid, I think, 49.99. I say "I think" because I don't remember exactly the pricing of 1.0. I bought the CE for 1.0 and I don't even remember what I paid for it, but it was probably something like $69.99.
I think XI expansions were about $29.99 and I always felt that was a fair enough price considering it wasn't a full game, but practically added a game's worth of additional content and story.
So, I would think $29.99 is reasonable. Yet they may, just may, sell it for $19.99 and that would be nice. Though anything more than $29.99 usd would not be worth it imo. (though I'd probably still begrudgingly buy it)
The only reason I even would think they'd sell it for $19.99 depends on just exactly how much new content there is added. We know there will be new zones, but we don't know how many exactly. We've only been shown about 3 new zones, I think. (2 land zones, and 1 flying zone) And we know we'll finally be able to set foot in Ishgard at long last as a new city state. We also know that, according to the devs, these new areas are suppose to be far larger than current zones. That's great and all, but I hope there are more than just 3 new zones to explore. We'll get at least 2 new jobs that we know of and new main story direction. Some new primals, new beastmen and likely some new raids to go with the expansion.
Now, they haven't said anything about new dungeons, which I find curious. I'm sure there will be at the very least a few.
Anywho rambling now. So 19.99 or 29.99, either way I'm good with that.

I am willing to bet the price will be announced at Tokyo Fan Fest. From there we will get the prices for our individual regions. U.S.A. side here.
Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.

Subscription based mmo's "usually" price their expansions around 49.99. I'm guessing that they are gonna follow the WoW model and take that route. But the most recent WoW expansion was priced at 59.99. So my guess would be 39.99 (please let it be this but I doubt it), 49.99 (Absolutely acceptable and most likely, but dang it's not 39.99) or 59.99 (I'm gonna buy it anyways but its an extra kick to my wallet).

i would be good with 19.99 > 29.99 preferably the lower for the basic dl version and the upper end of 29.99 being the just standard disk version.
the collectors edition i can see being 49.99 > 59.99

Expansions don't have collector's editions.. they're just an expansion. >_>;
Is that something they started doing now? CE for a freaking expansion? Hilariously silly if true.
This not new WoW had a collector's edition for least the last 3 expansion packs it released which been over course of 4 years.
Lets hope there is a digital version that can be paid for the same way I pay my sub.
Had to jump through quite a few hoops to get the base game. Would rather not have to do that again.
Although my local stores might carry the expansion if it's newly released.
