I might of let last night DF get to me but will patch 2.45 change the Dragoon reputation for the better; I can't promise or see it saving those who took the blunt of the blame. What had happen is I was in Turn 6 and we wiped, and one of the other players said, "When I see a DRG[,] it going [too] be a wipe." work place discrimination.

I have a friend who's like, I hate dragoon; usual I let the haters role off my back like rain drops but I am not blind, I know the jumps kill use, a few mistimed jumps have killed me here and their as well.

Maybe its just too late.

It's too late but, that's ok. What fun would it be without some friendly discrimination? As for the serious haters, just tell 'em they can stick their opinion "you know where"

Well, if you weren't causing the wipes then who cares? The person was either just trying to be funny, you actually did wipe the group, or they are stupid.

DRGs are only really suffering in FCoB because that's the only content you can't out-gear to a point that the difference in DPS and mDEF from one job to another is moot.

Just be that one who changes opinions. I used to be a serious DRG hater; my FC has heard me rant about it in the past. But then I got one DRG who not only played flawlessly, but was the last one alive and managed to kite long enough to pull off a LB on the boss. It's been a while so I can't remember the specifics, but I told that player he officially changed my mind about DRG's and I've been noticing a lot of good players since I leveled it up for Blood for Blood. Once 2.4 comes out and DRG comes out feelin like they just too the leg weights off a la Rock Lee, you'll have fun showing off to the haters lol.

While I don't think "loldrg" will be going anywhere, the reputation only makes the good ones stand out more. Strive to be "that one dragoon," the one who kicked butt and kept on truckin' while the monk lost their stacks and the ninja ran around with a bunny on their head.

Damage was done months before Dragoon's current state when people discovered that Dragoons getting animation locked by their jumps caused them to spontaneously explode.

So long as it's the job most prone to getting itself wrecked, the loldrg will remain the loldrg.

The Dragoon Stigma preexisted this game, in fact. It is one that's perpetrated from FFXI days and regardless of how powerful Dragoons become, there will always be people who mistreat the class, from outside or within.

I don't have a story like this in FFXIV, but I do in Asheron's Call 2. There was a guy who hated rangers and refused to group with them. A couple of mutual friends eventually managed to persuade him to let my ranger alt join the group. By the time the group ended he told me I was the exception to the rule and he'd love to have me back any time. Just play your class well and you can prove to people that it's the player, not the class.

It's true, OP. You're looking at a decade old prejudice that won't be washed away by a patch or two. FFXI had numerous changes to DRG in particular and two-handers in general, but this only makes the good DRGs better while the bad DRGs stay bad.

And there sure are a lot of bad DRGs.
