Request for Chilled-Out Legacy Chocobo Music

Why hello there,

Seeing as how the regular Chocobo ride is so bombastic, it would sure be nice if the Legacy Chocobo music was geared to be a little more soothing to the ears

I really wish they would just give us the option to toggle mount music on/off. I like it and all, but sometimes I really want to hear the environmental sounds or zone music without having to walk everywhere. :/

I usually never mess with the music settings but in this case I did, mostly because the"grandeur" of this track wore off a loooong time ago. It's too loud and fanfare-ish for just a chocobo ride.

It really depends on how many versions of the chocobo jam they've even made. I like the crazy epic one for cutscenes involving chocobos, but every ride is kind of harsh. It'd be pretty cool if you could, in your audio settings, choose between a "bombastic," "jazzy," and "mellow" version of the theme, but that'd be going pretty above and beyond even for Team Yoshida.

Perhaps all the mounts will have different music and we'll just ride the mount with the tunes we like? And maybe that could, someday, lead to the option to choose a theme from the mounts you have to play for every mount? Who knows.

Also, is my memory lying to me or did I see a function to disable mount music and just listen to the zone theme?

There's two versions that I know of that were in since 1.0: Uematsu's score (the "rental") and Soken's (Grand Company one).

Not that there's anything wrong with the GC choco music, but after a few listens the grand-ness and fanfare of it becomes annoying and grating to listen to. The "rental" is more relaxing and background-ish. If I could swap the two, I'd be set. But for now, I just disabled mount music.

I would never say no to another mount track, but it would be my hope to have a 'mount music selection' and perhaps... we could unlock tracks to chose on any mount.

Eg. I have Gobbue Horn, therefore I have unlocked its music choice for any mount. (Via achievement rewards and /mountmusic2 command?)
