    Yes. I'm not sure why they decided to do it like that, but making alts is, in this regard, vastly superior to multiclassing.

    The same is with weekly lockouts. Each character's lockout is separate.

    Weekly and daily cap is a huge factor for casual players. I am making an alternate character so that I can have poetics/daily bonus with each character.

    Well, you will spend twice the amount of time daily, so if you are a casual player it will maybe just add stress. The good part of capping the tomes easily is you can do other things and take life easier. A year ago when capping the tomes was not as easy as it is now, a casual player might spend most of his play time just capping the tomes.
