Need Meld advice for ilvl 110 for Scholar

Hello, I'm no healer or scholar but my Bondmate is and I want to make him the ilvl 110 gear with melds included. I know nothing about scholar, other than they like determination. Trying to make it a surprise Christmas/bond gift, because he'd try to use his own money which isn't much. Any help on the specific melds for each piece would be wonderful ^^

A Scholar's preferred Secondary Stat is often Critical Hit Rate, actually, as a Crit on their shields increases their strength quite nicely. Determination is their number 2 stat, so to speak.

This is probably a good set of meld goals to reach. They're done with the mindset of CRIT > DET > PIE > SpS

Platinum Circlet of Healing: 3 DET IVs, 1 PIE IV, 1 SpS IV (this one is optional. Nobody likes Spell Speed too much, it seems, but the slot is blank after maxing DET and PIE, so why not?)

Arachne Robe: 4 CRIT IVs, 1 CRIT III

Kirimu Gloves of Healing: 3 DET IVs, 1 PIE IV, 1 SpS IV (Same as circlet here.)

Kirumu Belt of Healing: 2 DET IVs, 2 PIE IVs, 1 SpS III (Neither DET or PIE will be capped here. They're both two points off. Feel free to replace that Spell Speed with a Grade II of either.)

Arachne Cullottes of Healing: 4 CRIT IVs, 1 CRIT III

Kirimu Boots of Healing: 2 CRIT IVs, 1 CRIT III, 2 DET IVs

Well frankly, there isn't a lot to choose from when it comes to melding for healer gear. Be it White Mage or Scholar.

Most i110 crafted gear already has a combination of piety, crit, det and spell speed. Considering most gear has one stat capped and the other either halfway or capped as well, melding is really limited here. The melds Donjo mentioned would probably cap most of the stats mentioned before.

However! A popular scholar meta is that scholars off-dps next to healing. If your bondmate is dexterous enough to pull of DPSing as well as healing, you might want to consider melding Accuracy as well. While Bio, Bio II and Shadowflare do not miss, Ruin, Ruin II, Energy Drain, Miasma and Aero can. To fully optimise DPS next to healing, accuracy would be necessary.

So if gil isn't really a problem, you'd want to look at:
Platinum Circlet of Healing: 3x Det IV, 2x Accuracy IV
Arachne Robe of Healing: 4x Crit IV, 1x Accuracy IV
Kirimu Gloves of Healing: 3x Det IV, 2x Accuracy IV
Kirimu Belt of Healing: 2x Det IV, 1x Pie IV, 1x Accuracy IV, 1x Accuracy III
Arachne Culottes of Healing: 4x Crit IV, 1x Accuracy IV
Kirimu Boots of Healing: 2x Crit IV, 1x Det IV, 2x Accuracy IV

This, with an i115 weapon and i110 accessories, will get you 492 accuracy. 492 Accuracy has 100% accuracy for FCOB Turn 2 (Turn 11) without food and for FCOB Turn 3 (Turn 12) if your bondmate uses Apkallu Omelettes.

Of course, this only applies if your bondmate is into offDPSing at all or not. If not, go for Donjo's materia plan as that is pure healing oriented while this is more of a supportive healer/off-DPS healer setup.

Edit: You need 515 accuracy for FCOB Turn 4 (Turn 13), if you'd like to make a set that even caps accuracy for that, or to cap accuracy for FCOB Turn 3 without food, simply swap out one or two Crit IVs from the robe and/or culottes till you reach the accuracy you want.

It all depends on what your friend aim at.
If it is HL raiding, he should prioritize accuracy cause dps is quite important.
    I'd go accuracy> crit> piety > det=sps

    Else just go for crit/pie

That second build is interesting too, but he mostly wants as much healing as possible. I've only seen him dps when dps are lacking/dead and something needs to die now or low level dungeons when I needed to lvl up my lower classes. I really appreciate the help ^^

    Just a little note about this particular post - Keep in mind that you'll only truly need accuracy if you ARE planning to DPS in Coil. You shouldn't need accuracy on any content outside of Coil (this includes both Second AND Final Coil). Accuracy is awesome in these instances and it really makes me sad when I miss an Energy Drain in Coil ; ;

Not a helpful post, but I just wanted to say what a wonderful surprise it will be for them! It's a lovely idea.
