I'm assuming that would mean no sky or sea like areas, no HNM dragons, no roaming nms (whats to stop me from generating mass hate and kiting it away from those fighting it to grief them). etc.

So if this game becomes heavily focused on raids and doesn't have an expansive world like FFXI had, will you still play the game?

Note: This is not a troll or doom and gloom post. FFXI's expansive open world was one of the things that set it apart from other MMOs.

Personally I'd leave for tera or a game with better raids like the new Star Wars. I love FFXIV but raiding gets boring since its just the same repetitive thing over and over and over again for months till a new one is released.
You mean they are going to fix the crappy claim system that plagues this game currently and make the game actually in a way more like FFXI. How? Most of the hard stuff minus HNMs in FFXI was completely raids/ instanced battles and what not. There are different forms of instances, doesn't imply that they are all dungeons. We may get BCNM type things and story driven things which was almost always in a raid instance. So repetitiveness is boring to you? Well welcome to MMORPGs, that is what they are about I have yet to play a MMORPG that is repetitive in the ways you mention even FFXI when running Sky and Sea. You are doing the same crap over and over and over for years, same goes with HNMs.

I really wish people would quit worrying about stuff like this til we see everything that comes out. Whether you say you like it or not isn't going to stop it from coming out, you might add a new variable but overall what they plan to come out is going to come out and you are either going to like it or not. Majority of the people that still play it today and who played through the game when it was almost a complete disaster will still be playing a couple years down the road.

How can a totally different game keep all the things FFXI had? Especially with FFXI still being a cash cow, if you want FFXI go and play it. Quit making stupid posts on here asking them to make XIV like XI. To me XIV already has that feeling XI gives me even to this day and makes me want to play the game even though it still doesn't have much of anything to do atm. I took a 3 month break about on the 3rd month I was playing FFXI again and having a lot of fun with Abyssea but by the end of that month I realized I was missing FFXIV and had to come back right when 1.18 came out. I had planned to wait to 1.20 to return yet here I am playing the game at 1.18 patiently waiting for more content.
