I wouldn't ragequit, but I'd probably get bored pretty quick and leave anyway.
Open world content has always been my preference over heavily instanced content. Overuse of instancing makes my adventures feel separate and inconsequential. It's almost like you're not playing an MMO anymore because people outside of your party have little influence on how you play and you have almost no influence on the game world - it becomes something like a static structure you can only look at and not interact with in any meaningful way.

Plus, I kind of like competition. We forge new alliances over it, linkshells harden or shatter, drama erupts, rivalries form, friendships are made. It's all pretty controversial and I can see why people don't like it, but I think it adds an element of life to a game that might otherwise be lacking in grit. It's when you get emotionally invested in something that it takes on real meaning to you and I personally think that is when the best memories are made and the most fun is had. But that all boils down to opinion.

Of course, there's no real way of telling if SE is even heading down that path, so this is all totally hypothetical.
