Thread: crafting failure rates lately

before you tell me its random, and not 100%, or that the level disparity is too high, let me tell you whats happening to me. i'm r22 ALC. for the past 2 days, ive been trying to craft a R25 synth. i have full guild support, crafting gear, ect. i'm failing 8-10 synths in a row. and teh one success i get to break them up, i finish with 60+ durability. its only a 3 rank dispairty, should the failure rate be that high?

miter shell x1 = 2 fire crystals. according to YG, its an r25 synth on alchemy. i'm new to alchemy , but i need to rank it up for a sub. i'm not having this problem on ARM or BSM. its driving me crazy!

Do you have chemicking training? its listed as the required training for this craft.
Some crafts can get particular hard if your below its rank and missing the required training.

Miter Shell Recipe Rank is correctly written as 25.
Requires chemicking training like Aeyis mentioned and is biased towards physical craftsmanship as with all fish->crystal conversion recipes.

Which tool are you using? One annoying thing about these crafting posts is that no one seems to be posting exactly what gear they are using - How do we know what recommendations to make then?

very possible in that case that the synth isn't 25. How much sp was it giving when you succeeded?

You use EXP not SP for recipe rank determination.

I can work out the rough level of a synth quite successfully with the sp gained. That xp calculation isnt going to do you much good when they demolish it.

Until then, I can work out the "exact" level of a synth with EXP. Using SP becomes increasingly more inaccurate as you move towards -20 ranks.
