A little more raid and a little less

Please, please, please for the love of the Twelve. Don't make grind parties the ideal method of leveling.

As someone who exhausted the current supply of quests getting my Marauder to 50, I've turned to Toto-Rak and grind camp parties to level my other classes.

I understand folks out there may enjoy the XI-style grind parties where you stand in one place and kill the same mob over and over till cap. But I'm of the opinion that raids are the way to go for group skill point grinds.

Raids are fun and and strategy-based content. Ranking my Gladiator in Toto-Rak has been some of the most fun I've had in a while. The challenge is well worth netting only about 10k SP an hour.

This is my little plea to the devs. Please don't make camp grinds the only way for party SP. It would be fantastic if there were at least one raid at ten level intervals.

Engaging content > easy mindless content

i'm agree with you, but ffxi lovers dont like challange, they prefer made static party with party setup (if you class is not OP not receive invite for hours) grinding party really is boring
i prefer dungeons with boss and limit time

I like both these dungeon SP parties and the grind parties. The problem with the dungeon grind parties is that it requires 4 people. If one person calls it a night early... well, party over (unless you have a replacement on hand). If more than 4 friends want in, someone's going to lose out (and fall behind). As for the strategy and challenge of the dungeons, it's definitely true at first... but after 5 or more runs, it gets very redundant. Also, once you've got all the loot you want, that appeal loses its flavor. And (for now) there's just two level ranges for SP (25-32ish and 45-50). I'm not saying the dungeon SP parties suck! Hell, I'll take one of those parties any day!

With the non-instanced grind parties, often you can keep functioning with two or three party members if people leave. You can also accept more people (moving to a new camp if needed).

Honestly, though, the grind parties are a little more variable in this game. There seem to be two general types of camps:

    1) numerous spread-out mobs that respawn slowly (forcing to you roam far)

    2) a few rapidly respawning mobs in a small area, which allows you to stay in one place (and generally offers the best SP in general, IMO)

I just found a camp for the low 40s that seems to combine the two -- it's a bird/eft camp in the Shroud... but it's spawn rate and spawn locations are a little funky. But at least there's variety!

Lol I <3 when people assume what everyone else likes.. I would love to see diversity in SP earning methods and I'm an old school ffxi player.

The grind method is an archaic thing. It's something we had 10 years ago when software programmers were still coming to grip with all this new tech.. Well you've had 10 years to get use to things. Start making some dang diversity already. I could play cheap ass FTP Rappelz or something and get the "EXACT" same type of game play, if all I wanted to do was grind. Grinding is no fun, never was, never will be.. It was just all we had, so we made the best of it.
I can have fond memories of hanging upside down by my sac if I do it for 10 years...
