Potentail Musketeer Theory

This was pitched at me by a friend early today and as odd as it seems, this might just work for Musketeer/Gun Mage so I thought it might be interesting to share the thought they had with the community.


First, let's take Ninja as an example of a class with a lot of combinations and various effects. The Mudras. I'm no expert on Ninja but from my understanding different symbols combined together give different buffs / effects / attacks from how I understand the class works.

There is an interesting piece of Final Fantasy material out there (often frowned upon by the fan base at large but still is part of the series media). One that uses guns and a mixing system.

Now, Obviously it wouldn't work /exactly/ like that as that class already exists. But let's consider for a moment combining different 'chemicals' or the like to give the party buffs and render damage / debuffs to the monsters.

Would be an interesting support DPS I think some might agree.

I do recall the 'not what we think it is' part but not the MRD one.

Also I agree, I have heard the 'not what you expect' but never heard him put a subjob to it, if he did I'd like to see the source.

He did say the first thing. He did not say anything about MRD.

A few people have brought up the Magun and FFU as a possible idea for how the mysterious gun class might be. And honestly, it's as good a theory as anyone has right now.

It would be very interesting for gameplay, quick loading different types of bullet to create a powerful debuff. A class that deals almost exclusively in DoT damage would be quite interesting in my opinion.

Its the MAG Gun theory and one which hi think Yoshida is actually leaning towards. He has Hinted.. "Golden Gun" as in singular and the unlimited Magic gun is Golden. He also hinted that it was not what we thought. Meaning it has a possibility of either being DPS style or Healing style or maybe a hybrid of the two. WE

That's how I was imagining Chemist job would work. Since we won't be using consumables, I imagine it using a combine system similar to how you combine different mudra to achieve a specific effect with ninjutsu. But then again, maybe I just really want another healing class, and preferably one totally different than what we have
