Would be nice if they didn't push mobs around and cause them to be re-position esp when you have abilities that are based on your position to the mob.

Choco medica on those things is embarrassingly bad. Mine would alternate choco surge and medica and watch me die a quick death while he tries to clutch heal us with his 200 potency medica when he should be just curing![]()

Our FC has someone in it that got his to 20, maxed all 3 trees for all 3 bardings, and then instantly used a pepper to drop healer down to rank 9 so it wouldn't use medica ever again. It's not just inefficient; it will use it for single target, which is just downright awful.

That's why DPS is the only thing they can do, somewhat "decently". I never ever trust healing or tanking to AI, if you trust an important task to an AI you are always going to be disappointed.

When I grab a bunch of mobs to aoe I just turn it on healer since honestly I'm not going to need its help, but I do agree the could make them a bit smarter.
Whenever I take my healing choco into battle ,if a large fate boss does cone AOEs my bird always get hit. I have to change him into a free stance in order to keep him from following me into the danger zones. He is not fast enough to follow me to avoid damage and he gets stunned and debuffed.
I think the healing stance needs a rework in order to avoid unnecessary damage.
Would be great if you could place them like a pet.

Uh.. Actually there is nothing wrong with the AI.
A Chocobo has a "Bird Brain". If they get any smarter, they would be replacing Roegadyn as a PC playable race, making Roegadyn as the game's over-glorified transport mule.

Don't forget the way chocobos react on those leves where you have to /soothe something to pacify it. I always put it on healer mode because it's screwed me a few times on ones where one death means failure.
