for the bards that bought the poe chest piece

i'm very sorry that you wasted your poe but the il110 sold chest is better and if you can afford it the kirimu hq coat is best in slot if melded with 4 crit 4's and 1 det 4 materia. i understand if you want to wear it still though to feel like it wasn't a waste.

higher item levels don't always mean better stats.

And now tell us why you felt the need to open a new thread for an information (not even a discussion) that everybody and their mom already knows about...

because i actually see a lot of bards using it over the sold piece. if you try to tell them they either don't listen or insist that higher il's means better stats. why so grumpy?

Because of the way you made your statement. "i'm very sorry that you wasted your poe" sounds very elitist to me tbh, though I guess it wasn't meant that way... ^^

On topic: I think the kind of player that even considers buying a chest piece with crappy stats doesn't care that much about min/maxing. They most likely just want a new, cool looking piece of gear that is higher ilvl, which is totally okay. They are most likely not going to either spend the gil or time spiritbonding to meld two Crit IV's into low percentage slots and the dreadwyrm piece will probably also be out of reach.

But anyway, yeah, i clearly see where you're coming from...

ah, no i didn't mean it in a harmful way. i just saw a bunch of them lately and thought i'd post it on here so they would know if they saw it by chance :].

and yeah you're probably right :b. some of the ironworks stuff does have a nice allagan thing to it that fits with the il90 weapons.

When you see bards wearing the poe top, either they don't know what they're doing or care more about how it looks than its stats. Most likely the former.

could be both. i see and hear a lot of bards that want to get into the class because they think it's easy to do well and end up making wrong choices. an example of that would be i knew a few bards that macro'd pretty much everything to heavy shot(bloodletter, buffs, stuff like that) thinking it would be better when in actuality it'll just lower their damage and hurt them more.

The ones who care about appearances would just use glamour prism's to get that appearance I imagine. Plus the i110 crafted piece looks way better when you get right down to the nitty gritty of appearances.

While it is true that the "Misery's End > Bloodletter > Heavy Shot" Macro and similar Macro's will reduce your overall DPS by a very minute amount, it will also on the flip side decrease the amount of TP drain that you suffer over time if you don't use it.

What I mean by this is that these types of Macro's will make it so that you will automatically use attacks that don't utilize TP when they are available, thereby making it so that you use less overall TP during any given fight. Without them you have to manually figure out when the best time to use these No-TP attacks are and that can overall increase the amount of TP-drain you are suffering from. I know that with these macro's I have used much less TP in most of my encounters than I ever did without them, and to me that is a fair trade off.

Nothing wrong with being ignorant. It's the refusal to learn that becomes the problem.

That being said though, don't gloat bout your item level when you still die to divebombs :v

Are you talking about the people buying the poetics top or the OP telling people that's they're playing their game wrong?
