You'll get a lot of info on that sort of error Via Google.
Try another hi end game or two, let us know what happens with that.
HD 6850 definitely for anyone wondering as well... Extreme performance especially for its price... Still around the 12th best card out there! Crazy for such a low price^^ Can easily get 30-60 fps with everything on depending on other specs as well of course
Edit : All settings max which include Depth of field on and 1080p res minimum... not counting ambient, even if you can run well with it on any build it's not worth the ludicrous hit it has on your pc xD Otherwise, everything maxed^^ I run this game with a crappy 1055t processor also and get a easy 60 fps btw >.< Don't listen to people who say you need a i7 for this game o.<

I try to play FFXI and it gives me the same exact error >.>; I'm thinking it has something to do with the drives but idk. Either that or my power supply and either way I think I'm screwed xD I've tried google and the various "fixes" do nothing so I'm a little pessimistic at this point...
It could be broken card, though that seems unlikely. I'd guess you'd get different symptoms if your PSU was actually running out of juice when the card kicks into high gear.
So...faulty card? It's a pretty common error with NVIDIA cards it seems. Persistent problem since 2007 and still no solution except to return. Glad I went through Newegg, they seem rather good with their return policies xP Still kinda disappointing though! Anything else anyone wanna offer trying before I pack this back up...?
It's a non de script error is the problem, a bad card is a possibility, bad drivers, error within windows.
Is your PSU ok? Dose it have enough power (including the 12v rails) to run the card.,
How old is your windows install? Is it well maintained?
I've had this sort of an issue with cards before.
You could try stripping the drivers, using a different PCI-e slot, Full windows install.
I've never had this error on a bad card, its always been hi temps or bad drivers/install.
Try loading the 275 drivers. I had issues with the 280's and had to roll back as far as 260's to get things to work when i was haivng issues.

With passmark tests and good overclocking the 6850 is actually rated about 5 or 6th on the high end scale... same thing in 3dmark.HD 6850 definitely for anyone wondering as well... Even stock it is still maybe 7th... 13th is much worse.
Just get gtx 560 from zotac, msi, asus, gigabyte~ but if u got enough money then just go for gtx 570 or 580 .
i can run this game with x2 gtx 470 SLI in highest settingsbut i recommend x2 of gtx 560 now for highest settings .
i7 is only good when u want to run many other programs @ windows beside runing FFXIV :> .. i5 is enough .
