Minor question, my new computer that I am getting soon has this card. Radeon HD 6570. At the moment my computer sucks and I am the LOWEST possible visual, texture, and graphic settings so I am super excited about the new computer. Anyone think this will be a big improvement?

The Radeon HD6570 is low budget... really low budget. I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than watching movies and playing really old games.

get a radeon HD5670. I play everything on high with that (of course I also have a quad core processor @3.4ghz). Just can't turn on Depth of Field or Ambient Occlusion

if your new PC has a core i7 then you'll probably want to get something like the 5770/6770 then since those are relatively cheap and give you much much more performance.

With an i7 (which is highend) you need a highend GPU of course. I would recommend a HD5870 or HD6950. The latter is quite a bit faster but also more expensive(both have double precision if you plan on doing GPGPU stuff). I think there's some limited offer currently at newegg where you get a Deus Ex coupon with that card :P

I bought this card for my PC: http://www.komplett.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=623542

It runs quietly thanks to 2 big fans for extra cooling instead of the tiny on at the end of the card. I am running everything on Highest. 1920x1080 reso and my fps seems to run smooth enough for my tastes

The pure 6970 may be more expensive, but with this card from Asus, you can buy the cheaper 6950 and alter its BIOS and it becomes a 6970.

I don't think every 6950 can be turned into a 6970. Also, while not a bad idea in general, it's probably not a good idea for a computer illiterate person to go for a card mod unless they feel like really looking into it. It shouldn't be that hard but my mother can't even read instructions that are in plain text on the screen in front of her, so it's hard for me to say what's easy and what's hard to less computer savvy people.

As far as the OP's question goes, it's impossible to answer without knowing what the rest of his system looks like. It's pointless to upgrade your graphics card if everything else in your system is ancient. You'll only create massive bottlenecks and won't get much extra performance from the upgrade. Likewise, you don't want to buy a high end CPU and then skimp on the GPU because the CPU sucks at graphics calculations and can't make up for the bad graphics card regardless. Balance is what you want from your system: Mid range with mid range and high end with high end. Low end won't get you anywhere, so always avoid that if you want to play games.

I play this game on a Macbook Pro using bootcamp with Windows 7. Macbook is 64 bit, but for some peculiar reason it says my Windows side is 32 bit.

Anyway, I can nearly run this game on full graphics. I only have ambient occlusion and depth of field turned off, as well as having General Drawing Quality at 7 - 8 (depending on where my laptop is sat at the time).
I find ambient occlusion tends to lag my game to a halt, even if my graphical settings are set to medium or low (maybe my graphics card).

I have an nVidea GeForce 9600M GT, and, as just mentioned, I can nearly run on full spec.

Not sure if you have found a graphics card yet, but if it's any help you could compare my graphics card (I know it's in a laptop!) to something you are thinking of purchasing.

I'd take everyone elses advice as well. Try to find out what is inside your PC so you can make the best choice for picking a card.
