    Novus upgrade questions

    Hello

I just started on the Novus sequence on my bow and had a few questions to make sure I get this right....

Okay I got the sphere scroll for the Artemis Bow and understand about infusing it 75 times with the Alexandrite as the catalyst and using the materia thats listed on the scroll.

So I can pick whatever stats I want for the infusion? Does it overwrite whats on the bow now? And lastly, which tier of materia do you use as theres 4 tiers 0/44 each....does it make a difference?

    Thanks

You need to use all 4 tiers if you want to cap the stat. To figure out how many you need to infuse in each tier (not counting breaks) divide the total by 4 round up at the end. So for a stat cap of 44 you would need 11 for each tier for a stat cap of 33 you need 8 for tiers 1-3 and 9 for tier 4 for a stat cap of 31 you need 7 for tiers 1-3 and 8 for tier 4.

As for what stats to pick yes you can pick any stats you want and it will overwrite the base stats on the Relic. The only ones that stay are the main stat (DEX for the bow) and ACC on healer relics. I believe for most of the classes the best relics come from maxing crit and det.

In addition, when upgrading to Nexus, it will give extra +1/+2 bonus for the capped +31/+44 states.

Just pointing out a small error here, the order for det is 7/8/8/8 because it caps at 31, not 7/7/7/8. And yes, best (assuming you reached acc cap for whatever you will do) is 31 det/44 crit for all dps classes except blm, which is 31 det/44 sps.

This is not a 100% correct. You will gain the higher scaling from the Nexus upgrade no matter how much of a stat you have, it's just that the game doesn't show decimals. This means you might have 25 det on your Novus, after upgrading to Nexus you will have like 25,8 det, but the game doesn't show it neither does it round up so you will see 25 on your wep until you have met a certain treshold, which is 31(30?) for determination.

Another example for this would be your ilvl: you might be i108 and swap a 110 piece for a 120 piece but still stay on average i108, because you didn't reach an average i109 yet, but maybe went up from i108,1 to i108,9, which the game just simply doesn't show.
