SE has to make sure the bots make enough money before they ban them. That way they buy the game again.

I don't know about you guys but 5 rmt sellers restricted to 8 characters per account sounds a lot better than 5 rmt sellers with 40 characters to their account. This applies to botting too.
But you can only be on one character at a time and they ban the entire account not the character so there would not be a difference really.

People are vastly overestimating how many shards you can bring in via mining, botany, or retainers.

That's 1.6 shards on average every 1 second. Even if you use proper cooldowns and chug cordial on cooldown, you won't get anywhere even remotely close to that many.

    Stop being so pedantic.

The fact remains that there are many different ways of discouraging bots and SE isnt doing much about it... my blacklist has over 100 bots I have reported and climbing yet 1 or 2 are deleted every week that are on there...

I have been reporting gathering bots and gil sellers alike and have seen SE do nothing about it and I am tired of it... so please help me make our gaming experience better by helping me resolve a major issue...

Edit: stupid tablet auto corrected me and made gil into girls
Waste of time, Also been reporting a bot crew on Balmung. They even have their own FC, their in the same place all day long 24/7 doing the same thing. Everybody on the server has reported them and they are still there. So yeah they don't care, its all about that sub money coming in

the problem with RMT is they are always trying to bypass filters in place (like right now relying on compounded sentences and Cyrillic alphabet), that being said they are doing things to stop it but they also have to be careful in dealing with this. yes the RMT spammers are bots. but that miner over there running to each node and hitting it with an frowny face icon? he could be a bot or he could be just a dedicated miner. We wouldn't let SE hear the end of it if they got an innocent person banned by mistake because someone else thought they were a bot.

Okay then. that's what I'll do. I'll tell you a story. Can you hear them? All these people who lived in terror of you and your judgement. All these people who's ancestors devoted themselves to you, sacrificed themselves to you. Can you hear them singing?

Angels Online had an in-game captcha system too for a while, but removed it after they found out bots were still bypassing it.

So, it's hard to make anti-bot systems. Some games have less bots due to the way they allow real money trading as a part of the game's features (IE: Guild Wars 2 and Perfect World.)
How can they bypass Captcha? o_O

I can confirm never seeing any gold sellers in GW2, well I only played to lv15 but I spent some time in the capital

Whereas in WoW, aside the usual anal "jokes", carry run sellers (same as in FF14) and guild recruitment, you also have gold sellers in trade chat. Of course those also bot, hack accounts and whatnot. It's just less blatant since the world is so huge and there are many players.
Oh, and Alterac Valley & Isle of Conquest are FILLED BY BOTS on Horde side (100% lose rate, 100% free win guaranteed for Alliance there) whereas Alliance has teams of bots in Silver Shard Mines & another BG I forgot, didn't play since after WoD's fiasco launch and dissapointed new features (or lack of).

FF14 is really not that bad. I'm pretty sure SWTOR also had gold sellers, since after the free to play change.

In FF14 I don't see any more than one gil seller message per day, max. I used to see more some weeks ago.

I'm on Odin and I'm pretty sure it's the most populated EU Chaos Data Centre.

Housing has some small plots available but M & L plots still cost an arm & a leg, that's why there are gil sellers. Also because of the high demand for materias and alexandrites for Relic. Which are also a huge waste of time and gil sink lol (opinion)

It seems that SE is indeed removing them. I removed all the gil sellers from my Black List and didn't see them again so yeah.

And what exactly would those ways be? The whole game is a giant grind fest. Grind Gil, grind crafting mats, grind for your relic, Spirit Bonding, Chocobo leveling, grind Tomestones. I certainly understand people who don't want to do that kind of stuff and instead just buy a few million Gil. Did you see the Gil prices out there? It's about 3€ per Million. Even if you would make a million per hour (which is unrealistic beyond reason), you'd still be "working" for 3€/h. And don't tell me "This is a game and thus not comparable to work!"

No, grinding is work. It's not fun but repetitive. I don't even mind bots at all. They're not impacting my gameplay in any way.

There are people out there have more money then time if not how is the bot business is still around and everywhere....

If SE want to make bot goes away they need to counter the bot with a different tactic.

    How to max level crafter?
Buy Gil buy mat blow everything on leve and 50...

How to craft the best gear?
    Investment~~
Buy Gil and buy the best crafting set and join the crafting business and make the best set and sell it to Gil buyer repeat stay on top of the market the poor stay poor the rich get richer because of resource to invest

Can't clear coil? Buy Gil and pay for clears

    Want buy house?
    Buy Gil

Want finish your novus peta meld?
    Buy Gil

The only thing that keep them from going all nuts with money is making more novus grind that related to end game which is the novus grind to nexus

The rest you can buy with Gil

There are people out there that buying Gil and invest in to making more Gil and trashing the market and the community flows with it cause of greed
