Returning Player looking for some information

After a couple years away since 1.0 I decided to come back and give the game another try.

Still going through the motions getting used to the new things and updating the class/job quests but one thing that I noticed which I wasn't used to was players doing battle besides their Chocobos which I found interesting.

Because I got the Coerl and Fat Chocobo mounts I hadn't even missed my old Chocobo but now I realized that I had no Whistle nor any other way to call upon him.

I tied to contact a GM with this issue which after a couple exchanges lead to me being directed to the bug's section of this forum. As requested by the GM I put my question on that forum and lo and behold it was simply directed to the Duplicate Bug section without any acknowledgment or solution?

I cant find any solution to this issue by myself so if anyone can tell me how to obtain some answer from SE or direct me to a solution I would appreciate it.

I may be off the mark here, but have you done the quest to get your company chocobo? After That there is one more quest to be able to call your chocobo for battle, when you've done those you still need gysahl greens to be able to call it as a companion, not use it as a mount. If you have done all those things and still can't have a chocobo with you in battle then I gave no idea. Hope this helps

The Calamity Salvager in the main cities might have your chocobo whistle. I think the one in Limsa is right near the exit next to the Aftcastle.

I didn't go into more detail because there seems to be a limit on characters but I would have done the first quest during 1.0 because I remember having the chocobo as a mount at that time with the Immortal Flames but when I came back there is no whistle on inventory neither does it show on Calamity Salvager NPC.

The Feisty chocobo quest doesn't show as available, the little chocobo doesn't show at all which leads me to believe the game considers it as done already.

the only reason that I can see for this is that at the moment I'm with The Maelstorm but it still should be possible for me to obtain a companion.

You should be able to get the legacy choco off the salvager the company choco will have to be gotten from the gc.

The whistle won't show in inventory - you can go to the Mount Guide option, though, where the fat chocobo, couerl, etc are... but if you already know it's not in there, then there's a problem...
You can check your journal history (have to select 'Completed') to see if it does indeed consider 'My Little Chocobo' and/or Feisty completed.

When you get a new mount in this game, the item in your inventory is a 1 time use sort of thing that will add the mount to your mount guide. If your company chocobo is not in there then you need to do the quest for it.

In order to do the quest for it, simply follow your main scenerio and it will eventually lead up to the chocobo quest. You cannot simply get the quest as it's part of the long chain of main scenerio quests.

I was a level 30 WHM when I first started in ARR. To get the current My Little Chocobo, you have to get through the main scenario at level 20 to get the ability to ride, and level 30 brings My Fiesty Chocobo in Bentbranch. You can't ride until you join a GC and do My Little Chocobo in ARR. If you could ride in legacy, you still have to learn it again.

But if you're talking legacy chocobo, that's another matter altogether.

I also had to unlock WHM again...but I didn't qualify for the quest because it needed ACN. XD
