Grand Company Seals..... Any ideas?

I can already foresee that the grand company seals (Useless currency for a big quantity of us) are going to be used in that future content called Grand Company Craft, where surely we will use this currency for improving-leveling-gearing up our GC allies.


But... Meanwhile.... Does anyone have any idea or what to spend them for? Because I'm running out of those.... I gain too many seals(HAd to atma farm five relics before 2.4, still remaining three more, I also did almost 40% of my Ninja's nexus throught fates while waiting for duty finder or if the window was not worth it. I sell all the gear I cannot desynthethize...)

Before 2.4 I basically WASTED all my seals in constant updates of my SCH and SMN attributes (INT per MIND, and vice versa) But now I don't know what else to buy with it... I already have a supply of 147 cordial, increasing even without want because I don't overuse so much my disciples of hand and I still obtaining umbral rocks and logs... I have always a supply of 99 ventures (And yes, I still sending my 4 retainers to do stuff). I have always a supply of 99 spiritbond potions and durability draught. I have a supply of 99 Keeper Hymn, for changing attributes in classes....

The past weeks I have been doing something really stupid for using my GC seals if my supplies were still 99. This was to buy GC stuff and then resell it to the GC via expert delivery (For obtaining some extra points to my Free Company, since it is a solo company).

Today I switched from Maelstrom to Flames, just for... Lulz upgrade my rank with it and also increase my Free Company Allegiance with them, now my purpose is to be max ranked with three company and max allegiance.... But... Seriously, I'd appreciate ideas in the matter of what to buy with my flame seals, storm seals, or happy-peacemaker seals.

Note: Buying materials for crafting is not an acceptable way to use them, the price of those is laughable in my server, not even worth doing the needed clicks for putting it into sell, and of course even less worth of having a slot in my retainers. I'm not so much into high stuff crafting so I don't need those for myself neither.

I like to save up until I cap it at 50 K. If there is nothing I need from the equipment for off classes I will dump them on the most expensive craft item and just make a little extra Gil. If I was a gatherer I would spend it on GP potions.

I always seem to be maxed out on my seals. Now-a-days, just use them on venture tokens. However, recently dropped 30,000 of them on floor and wall designs for my private fc room.

Well, there are still 3 more levels of ranks yet to be released. So I wouldn't count anything out just yet. GC Seal cap will probably get a raise to 60-75k and we'll likely get one of those levels in 3.0 (read: 3 ranks in the next tier up, the other 2 tiers probably will be available in later expansions). New GC gear, likely for optional leveling purposes and new materials for the GC crafting as the OP mentioned. The final set of GC armor for this level.. don't expect anything fancy. It's likely the uniform your respective GC OIC Quartermaster and Administrator wearing, and ultimately will be probably fairly useless aside for people that want to use it as glamour.

I expect 3.0 area FATEs to probably give a bit more seals than current high level FATEs, and/or all FATEs gaining a boost in seals. Then again if useful mats are sold in the GC, things might just stay the same/similar to as they are now.

That's what I think though.

As for what I do currently, yeah.. pretty much load up on about 50 ventures at a time (when I run out/low) aka. 10k seals. Make them back up with high level dungeon gear drops that I have no use for. Sometimes spend seals on gear if it benefits something I'm leveling up.

Added: Another thought crossed my mind.

What I would really like to see, is for tier I-IV materias to be made available to be purchased with GC seals at that new max rank as well. There needs to be something done to make materia more accessible and this would prove immensely helpful in reducing the ridiculous prices that grade IV materia have become, as well as easing the relic upgrades from being such a gil and/or timesink when it comes to acquiring the materia needed for the Novus stage. It would give GC seals another quite relevant use as a type of currency.

I thought Crit/Det IV prices were high on my server back when I was doing my Novus, yet several months later after I've long finished prices of those materia have only risen by another half of what they were when I was doing the Novus. I was totally taken aback when I actually checked it out one day. I thought if anything, after the initial Novus rush, prices would decrease and stabilize, but that never happened.

I didn't even go full crit/det or buy all of my materia and I still sunk roughly 4 mil into my relic on that stage. If I had wanted to go full crit/det with today's prices I would likely be spending something like 10-15 mil if I were to try and buy them all.

I've only recently slightly gotten into leveling up some crafting classes (started in 2.3), but I can already tell I'm not going to be in it like the hardcore crafters. Even here, it's too expensive to get materia for melds. I have been playing since beta, and the most gil I've ever had at one time is 8.2 mil. Back when I started Novus I had about 5 mil. Finished Novus with around 900k left, wasn't cool, but I'm glad that's all that it took me. It's a nightmare to even think about doing another relic. So I think having materia available to be purchased with GC seals at this stage (3.0) would be ideal.

I kind of also expect them to add another tier of materia V or even a second tier of VI. At the least add materia V, but have that only be available through Spirit Bonding since it'd be new.

One thing I can see them likely being used for in the future though could be that system that has been hinted to allow players to solo dungeons/trials/raids by commanding a party of npc Grand Company soldiers - GC Seals could therefore be used to purchase 'temporary soldier assignments' or something. But I guess we'll see.

Don't get your hopes up, the feature your thinking of is called Free Company Craft, but like others have said, I do imagine we'll get new GC ranks with new items come 3.0.

Hm... Perhaps I'll have to check the price of tawny latex in my server too! I don' need extra gear for leveling, ventures and other utilities always maintained at 99 while still having a lot of seals. Perhaps I should start to use durability draught all the time.
