    Frontline vote kick abuse

First time mad enough to launch a complaint. While vote kick seems to work (kinda) in PVE, vote kicking a noob from fl less than 5 minutes into the game seems very harsh, especially when they are trying to learn and enjoy pvp. PVP queues are already so long (4 hrs?! For 48 men?) and such a niche part of ffxiv that almost nobody plays.

Pvp vets, please try to let everyone enjoy the game. Appreciate that some people have to wait for long queues in order to pvp. Don't turn away what is already such a small group of people.

As for SE, I hope a slightly different vote system should be in place for pvp fl. While the 2 min afk kick seems to work, maybe there should be a no-kick while player is still engaging in battle? Or no kick in first 5 Mins of Fl?

I don't remember the ffxiv community being this unfriendly

We don't mind new people at all, we actually encourage it. More people, the better. Here's how to not get kicked in Frontlines:

    1. Be a team player. If you're going to run off from your group to YOLOSWAGLULZSOLO with no purpose and die repeatedly, at least let your team know (so we can kick you).

    2. STFU. If you don't have any words of encouragement or strategy for your group or the alliance, please save it. We don't care. Stop complaining that your group doesn't have enough healers if you are unwilling to swap to one.

That's all I can think of at the moment that bother me the most, I'm sure people have others. Friendly reminder tho: Please Please Please fight ON the flags when you can, not on the ramps or walls around the corner.

Just report them. It says right on the vote kick that abusing it is punishable. "Not playing FL the way I want them too" isn't one of the valid reasons for vote kicking, so if you're the type of person who tries to do that, please stop queueing for Frontlines.

It's annoying, 24 vs 24 vs 24, all enemies players in mid and our alliance too, i move recovering flags and our outposts but I was kicked because i am not with my party. No time to report because i am kicked without and advice.

They kicked u for fun or they are think you are playing wrong.

    A wasted of time

Not saying it's right. I very rarely see people kicked, but when it happens it's for those reasons...and when the window pops up and you know that person is being an ass for no reason, its hard to vote 'no' lol.

This sounds weird. So the player refused to go with the team? This player has no prior matches. The comment "Not playing FL the way I want them too", I believe is an actually a valid reason based on PVE GM comments. Only seen people who refuse to go with team be kicked or abusive players. Usually the lone wolf gets 10 mins or a couple team wipes. Hell i seen people who weren't even i50 and they got the vote kick window a few times and no one would boot them.

If the new player was a healer that might have been the reason. Entitled DPS think healers are slaves and should wander around the map healing them. Some dps didn't think I was healing them enough and booted me. I requed and got reward. If on server just tell them not to que healer.

Just tell them to stick with the team and I am sure they will never get booted. No one is parsing pvp and no one is booting the damn bard who refuses to attack healer target 1.

I usually only try to kick or vote in support of kicking the following player types:
    • Hiding Ninja Leeches - Ever seen a ninja on the map hang around one point? Especially when that area is enemy controlled and not where the ninja's team should be in standard strats?
    • Bots - Have seen a couple BLM bots that sit on their sides op spamming Blizzard 2 and popping cds at bad times.

Both of these tend to be noticeable when you look at your map and the player is or isn't in your party.

i think players in pvp especially when they are losing are trying to blame someone/kick someone.
People tend to use the same old strategies over and over again. Factions that try new things often succeed by a big amount cause its not common and a surprise. that's how it should be.
I got kicked a few min ago, cause i was not with my party for like 2 min.

Within the 2 min i captured an outpost, and helped another party get the flag back.
On my way back to my party i read "NO, were losing the LB" and got kicked right away.... That is pathetic. (also no warning)
I can underand it if ppl are never with their team.

Honestly. Don't try to blame it all on one person, when things go bad. That's weak and don't kick people so fast (bots, leechers is another story), since i'm sure if that happens too often, you only drive more people away from pvp, and then cry about not enough ppl participating... or SE changes the vote kick thing again and it helps botters and leechers more...

    most important though. RELAX!!!!

One kind of AFK'er who can be harder to spot is one who hasn't ressed in a long time (remembering that each death takes an incrementally longer amount of time to respawn but if they were actually with the party when they died we'd already know that. But if we get a moment between battles and I'm either on /follow or guarding a flag, I'll ask- "<7> (or whatever party slot number they are) are you there?" If they're dead, even without a keyboard they have time to type Y or Yes. It's both identified people who weren't and needed to be replaced, and people who- well maybe they 'volunteered' themselves to help mid the whole fight or got lost- are not truly AFK and those I don't kick vote. It's easy to spot a 90k due to instant health/MP bar and unless they 90k at the beginning and NEVER return after several minutes (this type of error is quick to relog in from) I don't kick vote them, it's not their fault and not good for morale to have them lose the exp/WM's for something outside their control. I've maybe only done this twice out of many games where it was obvious they decided not to come back.

If they do respond they're there, I usually just cover my tracks and say something like 'We're at manors/markets/etc get here quick and I can SS you before battle' so they don't know it was an AFK/abuse check. I'm not much of a kicker, only kicked an active player one time and totally justified, after berating a new player for several paragraphs at a dungeon end boss because they didn't LB a certain way, I told the new player- Don't worry we'll get it this time, just use your AOE LB when you see ___ unless <toxic lancer name> decides it makes sense to melee LB the boss first." We head in, toxic lancer replies 'STFU BUFF SO WE CAN FINISH THIS!!!' which was a bit hypocritical after their time berating a new player. I've tolerated worse things directed at me, but it's all about overall context. I simply stopped right there before crossing the boss threshold, vote dismissed for harassment, and I've never seen one pass so fast. Tank's response was priceless- "Well, looks like you're finished with it now." though of course they were no longer there to hear it.

tl;dr- Vote dismiss has its place. Take precautions for AFK/offline votes; use harassment votes responsibly and infrequently.

If you are playing with people who are kicking you because you are new, you're not playing with vets.

Vets who are actually decent at the game WANT more people to learn how to play so their team can win. People who are kicking people for being newbies are people who think they are better than actually are.

The only people I dslike in Frontlines are people who don't listen and it tends to be the people who don't understand that Frontlines is about adapting to your situation not "YOU ONLY NEED TO DO A B AND C TO WIN!"
