    Ready Check in CT

So is it just me or are a lot of tanks just not ready checking anymore? I just ran ST a bit ago and had the distinct problem that the tanks were pulling before I was even half done applying stoneskin to the party. When I called them on it and asked them to please start using ready check they got defensive and starting talking about how stoneskin "wasn't necessary". Immediately after they locked me out of the next boss fight because they pulled while I was heading there and once again didn't ready check.

So is this just some tanks being assholes or did it suddenly not become proper for people to use ready check in the week I was off?

Welp, whenever i run ST these days (i simply dont) i do a rdy - when im the one tanking the bosses. Else i just let the suicide tanks run into the enemies and wait till they either
    a) die
    b) get help

    And then join the fight.
Generally speaking: Everyone just wants to get through ST and noone cares anymore.
Dont get angry about it. Just follow or wait outside ^.^

I wasn't so much angry about them not doing the ready check. I was more angry about the fact that they laughed at me for suggesting it. We actually did really well seeing as pretty much everyone in the alliance was around item level 100; nevertheless, I just have a problem dealing with rude players.

As a tank, I used to only pull a boss in CT after doing a ready check, but now I feel it's unnessecary. It is rare, almost impossible, to have all 24 strangers consider themselves ready simultaneously and that in itself isn't needed, all the fights can usually be beaten even missing a good many in the alliance. Instead, I pull when it looks like most players are in place and this is easy enough to tell by looking around, no ready check required.

I haven't done it in a week or two, and try to avoid it as much as possible.
The social experiment aspect of it is sometimes pretty enjoyable, though...

Anyway, I use a variety of methods:

    Just the feel of it.
-If I've been sitting around with my whole group for a long time, and there's no flashy animation going on in the other groups (no more stoneskins/prep spells going on...) I'll just go.

Using ready check for my team.
-If my full team says they're ready, and everyone else from the alliances is at least "in the room", sometimes I'll start the fight. My two healers will keep me alive, and the DPS that are ready can start across the alliances. The battles simply don't require everyone across the board to be all ready and set to go.

    Using ready check for others.
-I usually watch the ready check to make sure my healers are ready, and at least 1 healer is ready on each of the other alliances. Again, the battles aren't that rough anymore, most people know what's going on and that's enough to get going.

Rude players are rude for all sorts of things, not just the ready-check. They suck all the time.
If someone actually requested the ready-check in an ST run I'd try to oblige them... of course, I'm just one of 24

And locking you out is just horrible. I think it's pretty bad when I see that happen. Does it hurt that bad to wait 10 more seconds? Not everyone begins running to the next room before the current boss is even actually dead...

    Favorite ST quote I saw:

    "Who's going to MT?"
"We all fight for hate and no one picks up the adds. That's how you tank ST."

Personally, I avoid the dragons in the trash pulls, most tanks go for those and don't want to deal with the more-difficult aspect of picking up the adds.
I did have one run though where all 3 of the tanks had the same idea... many a WHM died that day...

Best plan for running ST is just to sit back and enjoy the ride. Expect some stupidity and laugh at the results of 24 strangers trying to co-ordinate themselves

well, there is good news... Stoneskin II is coming. can cast it on the whole party, but only in a non-combat state.

The difficulty of CT/ST is such that you don't need full buffs for any encounter. When I tank, I just go once I see everyone's in the arena, since otherwise it's just all of us sitting there waiting to see who makes the first move regardless of a ready check happening.

Raid-damage mechanics never happen until around two minutes into each fight, so if someone is afk longer than that, well that's their own fault, and you don't need a full 24 to do it all either. At most, 12 people. Only CT requires a situation of 3 tanks and 3 healers being present also, ST is more lenient than that.

I'm surprised it took them that long to consider implementing it in, since it was a pretty obvious omission straight from Coil1 days.

i main a WHM since early access. and honestly don't see the necessity for it. nobody should have a problem putting Stoneskin on a Full Party before each encounter. i would rather see a group Esuna/Leeches.

A lot of things don't happen in ST. Ready checks are pointless anyway since even if some are not ready people go anyway. The strangest thing to me is how the three Tanks never co-ordinate with each other at all. They all just tunnel vision the biggest mob and argue over aggro. Any other game i play in a big raid at the start they are deciding who will MT and which are going to OT. There is hardly any raid co-ordination in general everyone thinks they are a self contained party and that's it. When group A has two frozen healers from ice spam on their group most people don't even see it most that get is "Lol noobs in A" XD.

Ready checks are pointless and annoying in most dungeons.

If all players are in the room, it's go time unless someone mentions they need to AFK cause their cat's on fire etc
I don't even stoneskin whole party for T9 at the beginning anymore, maybe just for FCoB.
