When you get a new mount in this game, the item in your inventory is a 1 time use sort of thing that will add the mount to your mount guide. If your company chocobo is not in there then you need to do the quest for it.

In order to do the quest for it, simply follow your main scenerio and it will eventually lead up to the chocobo quest. You cannot simply get the quest as it's part of the long chain of main scenerio quests.

I was a level 30 WHM when I first started in ARR. To get the current My Little Chocobo, you have to get through the main scenario at level 20 to get the ability to ride, and level 30 brings My Fiesty Chocobo in Bentbranch. You can't ride until you join a GC and do My Little Chocobo in ARR. If you could ride in legacy, you still have to learn it again.

But if you're talking legacy chocobo, that's another matter altogether.

I also had to unlock WHM again...but I didn't qualify for the quest because it needed ACN. XD
