I have had my ISP open all of ports the support told me to, Reset my router, uninstalled the game and reinstalled, and tried changing settings on my PS3 from any topics I found. Any other game I play online work with no problem, I have great connection speed and connection, I can stream netflix, and work from my computer 10 hours a day with no wireless issue. But SqEx support is telling me for sure its my internet. I'm giving it another day or so to clear up on its own before I cancel my sub. I've wasted 10-12 hours combined, on the phone with support with my ISP, chat with SqEx, and trying various methods on my own to come up with a solution.

Been a fun 15 months or so but just the support alone is making me want to just cancel.
Your "internet" is a very complex web of networks owned and maintained by a lot of third parties that your ISP has agreements with for carrying your data from point A to Point B. As such, it is rare that you follow the same exact path for different services--even when they are offered by the same company, you may still follow different paths getting to your assigned servers. Without looking at your entire route, it is hard to rule out your internet as a culprit. If things appear fine at the endpoints (which sounds like what has been verified--your ISP looked at your local segments, SE at theirs), then it is likely something in between and thus your "internet" is still suspect.

For PC users, run Resource Monitor (resmon) or Netstat from a Command Prompt while fully logged in to the game to identify the address your client is actually using--Canadian IP's will start with 199, the ones in Tokyo start with 124. For console users, you may be able to look at your current connections from the admin pages of your router to find this IP address. If you can't find it, you can at least run tests to the lobby servers. Here are the registered DNS names for them:

    neolobby02.ffxiv.com (199.91.189.74)
    neolobby04.ffxiv.com (199.91.189.93)
    neolobby06.ffxiv.com (199.91.189.106)
(The JP lobbies use the same name scheme, but with odd numbers 1,3,5)

Run a battery of tracerts and pings to this IP both during good and bad times, saving the results and then forward them to your Tier3 support techs for review. Also, include some tests to other services for comparison--another game, or other popular services or even google/youtube would be good so they have something for comparison. There is a strong chance they will find issues either with their exchanges to their routing partner, or somewhere between there and the exchange to SE's ISP (Ormuco). It's been true for a LOT of people that have gone through this process, and many of them have gotten some considerable relief from the congestion that is causing a lot of the lag/disconnects.

I've been fine now since yesterday, however I've had several people tell me they are lagging very badly now as of today on Ragnarok, PC users, so not just PS3 users

i wouldn't try to diagnose anything until SE has confirmed measures have been taken to prevent future attacks. unless you are experiencing the problem on other games or services too.

Just wanted to drop by and add on that I have been seeing the same problems on PS3. 4 other people in my house play on PS4, and none of them are having problems. No PC users in the house.

I'm on Jenova in the Aether DC.

Would be bloody nice if SE could make some kind of announcement about these issues...

I play on pc (Windows 7) and have been having connection issues with ffxiv.
Funny thing is I used a program called "Internet Connectivity Monitor" to ping the NA server every 5 seconds while I play. When I get disconnected from the server I'm still able to ping the server without interruption.
When I lose connection I can still see the action around me and what other players are doing but am not able to interact myself until eventually either it resumes or I get disconnected completely.
It only began to happen 2 weeks ago or so, I had no trouble at all during the initial trial month, though I'm sure that is coincidental.
Wish I knew how to resolve this.
