Well they will make a materia for that .. Materia for shield with after effects.. like shock spike...drain ...

I assume what you are after is something like Reprisal from ffxi paladin class. It is quite possible it will come, reflect back a set amount of damage that has been absorbed from the shield.

omg finally people with common sense, im not one of those people who does all the devs work for them and write a ten page long script on an idea. It was a simple notion and requires some imagination.

You kinda already have it in the form of Phalanx: Extra damage for measly cost of 250 TP every-time you block. If you want to GLA to have more DPS/DD/whatever, then you need to remember they need to somehow balance the game. A tank shouldn't have too much damage.

phalanx is a counter attack, not quite the same, at all, lol

like eurantien pointed out, it exist in ffxi as an ability for paladin class so there is no reason why it can work in 14.

Because we don't have Paladin yet? Paladin will come out after patch 1.20.

Last time i checked Reprisal didnt stack with spike spells, still it was a nice buff.
