No more housing?

Forgive me if I've got this wrong, but from the news I've read about the recent live letter, SE has no plans to add anymore housing? This actually upsets me a little since I'd been saving up recently to get one, even had a couple picked out with a friend in Lavender Beds. Before anyone says anything, my fc house is in Mist (don't want moar mist) and I can't stand the goblet. I always wanted Lavender Beds.

Apparently SE said they felt they'd met demands, but I can't believe that this is it. I just really want to know what everyone else thinks about this. Anyone else want more housing? Have you not been able to get the house you want and don't want to feel forced into buying one in a place you dislike?

They're not planning(as of Live Letter) on expanding housing, even with Ishgardian Housing in 3.0(at this time)

A26: We had been prioritizing the addition of land and since we do not know exactly how much of a demand there is we have not been able to do anything with this. This is not to say that we will stop adding land in the future; however, I feel we’ve filled the demand with the expansion areas, so I’m thinking it’s about time to enhance the utilities for each house.

The wording is kinda weird, but I read it as they're comfortable with the amount of housing that is out now, so it isn't as much of a rush/priority anymore. However, they'll eventually add more housing. It may just be a little while until they do.

Again, that's just how I read it! I'm not saying that's definitely what they meant. Some clarification from the devs or mods would be nice. ^.^

He simply stated that they aren't going to be expanding on housing "at this time" which doesn't mean they won't add more in the future. I myself have a personal house, and a FC house, so I don't need another one, but I'm also on Balmung and I still think they should add more housing for the other people, even if they figure out a way to only add housing to certain servers. Balmung is probably the most heavily populated NA server and will most likely always have a problem with availability on housing plots.

The priority as in not increasing the item limit of furniture in houses not adding houses themselves.

Basically they are more focused on making sure there are enough houses for everyone to buy before they go back and expand on potentially increasing the limit of furniture in mansions and maybe medium houses.

thought people wanted personal housing but the location of where the housing is troublesome ?

Try to be less picky on the manner as the server I am on has plenty of small houses in the goblet so the whole argument of availability is crap, the playerbase has always been at fault.

That depends on what server you're on. Simply because there are Goblet houses available on your server doesn't mean that it is the same for the OP's server. For example, if the OP's server (Phoenix) is less like your server and is more similar to my server (Balmung), there are absolutely ZERO small houses available anywhere. There's no reason to be calling the OP "picky" just because there are small houses available on your server.

And I'm on a legacy server by the way and has a lot of people on there, lavender and mist has no small houses at all, but goblet does.

Of course as Kalisim pointed out, Balmung is not even about being picky since SE is unable to deliver upon the demand. Really wish they can pick up some dynamic system in the future.. Static resources in a theme park mmo.. ugh it just hurts mentally that they do this lol (in an economic driven game static and destructible resources are great, say for example EVE).

On Phoenix it's more or less the Goblet with spaces and a bit of Mist I guess. You can call me picky if you want, but considering it's my hard earned gil I have every right to want to put it down on a place/location I don't hate. I also mentioned that I had a place picked out with a friend (and possibly any others for a little neighborhood). It just wasn't till now that we could really afford to drop gil on housing.

In any case, if they're adding more housing eventually then all's fine. XD
