I wouldn't use heel or steady in your macros because I like to be able to control her at all times and 100%

What I do however is use stay. I find it more reliable to interrupt whatever she might be casting. This is much more important because it will delay whatever you want here to do much more then just a embrace she just might have cast a split second ago. If you need to rely in THAT split second that embrace is on CD than you did your job as SCH wrong and didn't anticipate well enough.

For example, I have a macro for manually having her cast embrace (ie for Levi mt spam):

/micon "Embrace" pet
/pac stay <me>
/pac "Embrace" <t>

The stay will make sure that even if she is about to move (to heal another group member) she will stope and heal the target I tell her to immediately.

Same for when I need her to cast a buffed up aoe for those special occasions:

/micon Rouse
/ac Rouse <me>
/pac "stay" <me>
/pac "Fey Illumination" <me>
/pac "Whispering Dawn" <me>

Another macro I find very handy is this one:

/micon "heel" pet
/pac "Place" <me>
/pac "Heel" <me>

It allows me to have her follow me but also the same time I can place her if needed. Frees up space and lets me control her positioning much better.
I also ALWAYS like to position her (unless in movement heavy fights such as T11 Phases). It means I place her closer to the tank so she generally focuses her auto embrace on him and not others.
