Team Colours

So Adders seem to have embraced Yellow on Aether there is one team all Orange though. I have seen the odd Maelstrom all Red and one all Black team.

Flames have had a few discussions some people say Blue a few black but Maelstrom use it as well and the last choice was Orange.

Do other players enjoy seeing all the players from other servers in team colours?

I have NEVER seen this on primal data center and I have participated in way over 300 frontline matches easily. Honestly kind of surprised I haven't run into such groups tbh. Maybe primal data center doesn't have as many premade groups as the others idk.

I've only seen yellow Adders. I've never noticed if the other teams have colours, tbh. I tunnel vision on the class name lol.

I've seen this once or twice, I think it's a great tactic. As soon as I see this I start getting nervous, because it means we're going up against a premade.

Where do we set this? I'm aware of a setting where we can personally choose what color each GC appears as, so I've seen nothing outside that. My setting for Adders is the default yellow but I never see that however since for them I get Orange for Alliance teams outside my party (same as ST) and blue for my own party. Also based on my own settings I'm pretty sure.

Also I have no idea what color Flames would be. Our symbol is black and gold and our NPCS wear a dull grey/bull color.

Oh right. That makes more sense. Not that I personally plan to do this of course, all my dyable gear is already the way I want it and I'm sure the same's true for the people in my LS when we go as premades. I don't normally pay attention to the details of what other players are wearing- but I do see a possible competitive disadvantage to being conspicuously dressed alike... when reinforcements are sent to join a party of 8 fighting against us (since it's rare that we get beat in a straight up 8 v 8 confrontation)... if everybody was dressed in say good or bright white and a couple of people showed up in gear that made them stand out as a non-party member, I'd probably take them out first since they don't benefit the same from party-wide healing spells as the rest. Or, if a healer perhaps I'd leave them for last and get rid of the ones that could AOE heal the group.

Definitely true, pretty much 100% of the time if my group rolls in and wins we will have 2 groups coming at us afterwards. That being said, the most fun part of frontlines is fighting off a huge group or PUGs or fighting against another competent pre-made, I'd rather lose and have a good match then win because the team we fought sent 4 tanks in and didn't have a strong party.

The uniform definitely easily identifies you as a pre-made, and fighting another pre-made you don't use the same strategy as against PUGs. PUGs you can afford to save cooldowns for the 2 group push that comes after, whereas against another pre-made you need to go big with no regrets. The uniform makes you easily recognizable, although rolling in as a tight pack with a big roegadyn wearing a giant chocobo mask also does (shoutouts to gryzz odyss).

Team colors do get people motivated and can help you get people who wouldn't otherwise be excited and into frontlines into it. People get pretty excited about it and we've used it to help build out our linkshell and get people interested. It's cool when you get into a match and see other people with the same color uniform and you've got some group solidarity and keeps it fun.

Side Note Atreus - Good matches last night. We did 2 that you guys were in and my group definitely hopes we can fight yours some more to get some more practice in. I wish there was something like an 8 v 8 wolves den so we could coordinate some matches in the future. The only thing I was pissed about was that freaking storm won both the matches!

You too Blub! Yeah Storm had their own premade active for one. The other was just both of our stellar pugs doing what they do best. >_>

lol That's our trademark huh? I'll take it. He's like a luchador. Even all of his craft jobs have that damn chocobo mask. Still haven't seen his face.
