Just Curious why SE never took a vote from players on what we want in Cash Shop?

Theres a lack of content thats getting released for what we should be getting for free. If they want to release cash shop content they cant have the normal development team work on it. We should be getting same amount of content free each patch.

Lack of content each patch? Am I playing the same game as you?

There are a lot more I did not add in, such as fixes to skills, 2.xx patches (such as Ixali beast tribes), new items in ventures and treasure hunts, relic questlines etc. They've consistently put out similar amounts of content in each patch, and it ain't a small amount.

Cash shop is good as long as they only sell vanity item (or additional storage (more retainer) or optional service like change name, appearance) and they still put a good portion of content / vanity with free* into the game. (today WoW shop is still good, they only sell skin, pet, mount, and boost to lvl 90 + some basic equipment for new lvl 90.(well I get the idea due to in WoW it is not fun to play as low level. It is practically barren. You need to wait hourly just to go into a low level dungeon). Even though they had the shop, they still put lot of cool mount/pet/skin into the game for free*).

But if they sell something which lock a content/class which mean it's time for me to stop my subs (expansion is different). (which is I am really afraid off).

I think it's about time I left MMOs. What first attracted me to them is gone now. It used to be levelling, making your character (not his/her gear) stronger was the focus of the game. It was what 90% of your time was doing, partying with and making friends as you did so. Now getting instant max level and geared up for cash is not even considered controversial...

@Aegis, nobody forces you to buy anything in the cash shop, for now at least, you can still take thelong road, what others do shouldnt be your concern only what YOU do should be, if you consider that what others can get and you cant for whatever thr eason as unfair well guess what is not unfair, they can you cant or wont. Simple as that, ify ou leave over this is silly, if you leave because you dont find enjoyment for the game anymore as the game and not for what others can have, then by all means good luck.

Wouldn't that logic also mean that selling BIS gear, Unique abilities or raids/areas/classes etcetc through cash shop only be ok? After all, no-one is forcing you to buy any of that. Just because others have gear you can't get without using cash shop, it isn't affecting your game play after all?

And my post was ( perhaps I wasn't clear) that the elements of the genre (character development, social interaction, persistent open worlds) that attracted me to the genre are now dead. That's why I've unsubbed.

why should they give a right to the general populace on what THEY want to see in THEIR cash shop? why should we have say in what is displayed ?
A company is a company they make decisions on what they want, we dont need to know the why the because and the where. We just have the choice to either agree with what is proposed or not agree and leave.

These kind of request are just annoying and yes, in my opinion, you want to see what you want to see, this is just not going to happen, they MAY make a survey now and then but they have no obligations.

Just leave if you dont like it and check now and then if what is proposed at a time is suitable to you.

paying a subscription allows you to play, it doesnt give you the control on what you can play and at what condition, you just pay to access.

While i'll start off by saying i agree, it's their game and they have no obligation to do anything players want.
I'd like to point out how blatantly idiotic and toxic that statement is, does anyone else remember how this game bombed because it wasn't interesting to players? and how SE redid the entire game to make it suitable for other PEOPLE, not what they themselves want? i can see why you might've forgotten the reason why we even have live letters from the developer too, because he likes to take feed back and understand what the players like as to make them happy.

As far as i'm concerned if i pay a subscription fee for something, yes my opinion is valid, i'm paying for the lights to stay on in whatever office the developers work in and for them to get paid, without the consumer base this game would cease to exist, and if a large majority dislike something, you remove it. And the whole "Just leave if you don't like it, you only play for access" Is quite a bullshit statement, if you've been playing this game since it launched and have been enjoying it from then till now and love it, but something comes along you just can't agree with why should you just 'leave', you've invested time and money into your character and account to the point where you don't just 'leave', you fight to have the game continue being what it is you love. Were not paying for access, our money goes towards paying the developers to continue working on this game so yes we have a say.

And the reason why people are outraged about this, is because SE pay their employees to create the items in the cash shop along with their other duties and then having them charge us huge amounts of money for the privilege to own that exclusive item, that item should have been included in the standard continued development cost that we as consumers pay for, but a section of that content is essentially cut off and sold back to us. The same problem with on disc DLC that companies seem to like doing this day, developing content for a game and upon release blocking part of that content off and making us pay for it later down the line.

And i think myself and many others question where does the line get drawn? when those items sold on the cash shop can be sold by players on the market board and a divide between how much in game gold is worth compared to real money, and thus promotes the selling of gold bots more, or when it starts with mounts and minions and then like just recently additional content like gold plan marriages is removed entirely from the game and sold to us at a premium price despite paying for that content to exist in the first place. If it remained just mounts and minions of cosmetic items i wouldn't have a problem but what happens when that line is pushed and by that time it's to late to fight against it?

I personally dislike things that are anti-consumer, but hey that's just me, i'm not going put my head in the sand and say "It's their game their choice." as if the money I'm paying towards this game doesn't give me the right to sway what would be defined as anti-consumer behaviour from being put in place.

And i want to add this disclaimer saying that i'm not saying the developers should cater to what we want in the game, they can have their creative freedom and design whatever they like as long as that content remains free accessible to everyone who pays the subscription model.

No, not me personally, I dont care of it....why would I bother about that ? why ? if I dont like I go, you really have lots of time to spend on futilities, this is a GAME, you play until is enjoyable to YOU, if I enjoy what cash shops offer why not ? i may buy it, if I dont like I wont simple as that...


I dont see where the problem is ...YOu make ita problem where there is none, and an easy solution is found, the game is not the end of all dozens of other games are available, arent they ? right ?

Besides if interaction with others is based on money then I will requestion a) the *friends* you have and b) your way of reasoning. You made a decision fine, good, congrats, but dont complain please, becasue the choice was made by you, you didnt have a gun on your head to decide,

Again YOU decide what is worth for YOu based on YOUR wishes not what the others want you to buy/sell or do...pretty simple in my opinion.

But like in everything, CHOICE is yours, just dont complain to others over a choice that YOU made.

The vote came when everyone wanted fantasia potions and people even went far as saying their willing to pay for it with allot of likes remember the fantasia or riot threads they just added on top of that with vanity items too, do I agree with it no I did get my fantasia potions but that all their getting out of my wallet the vanity gear isn't really anything special and the marriage system never going to use I'll do that in real life thanks lol.

A cash shop isn't up to the players its up to the company producing the game. Get over yourself.

I love the white knights calling on how the cash shop is here for:

- Make more money for the game developing.
- Stop possible increases on monthly fee.

It never did cause it knew the answer, most of this community, most of it, by a landslide, would be against the cash shop we have now, and probably would be half and half on the fact of having a cash shop at all (this outside the account services as retainers, fantasia, name change and server transfers which are OK.) problem is, the actual condition of a very weak cash shop that is being made up on scrapping content off to make it come alive, a frankenstein cash shop.
